Sitting by the fireplace has to be one of the coziest things you can do. 🔥 But you know what’s not cozy at all?

The amount of particles that end up in the air for you to breathe into your lungs 🫁🫣

You can’t have a fire without having some soot particles, but you can learn to burn a fire in a smarter and healthier way.

Naturvårdsverket has an excellent video titled “Elda rätt och bidra till en bättre miljö” (linked in comments) where they give advice on how to use your fireplace in a way that minimizes health risks associated with ingesting soot particles. If you regularly use a fireplace and care about your health, we definitely recommend giving it a watch.

And remember that no matter how smart you burn your fire, there will always be particles released to the air. For that reason, it’s important to use an air purifier with hepafilter so you can ensure the air you and your loved ones are breathing in your home is clean and healthy.
