13 years inside corporate teams before I built this practice, and what broke me wasn't the workload.
It was the growing sense that the work no longer meant what I was told it meant.
That isn't a personal failing. It's one of the three components the World Health Organization uses to define burnout. It's also the component that time off doesn't reach.
Recent research is worth knowing:
A 2023 systematic review of art therapy-based interventions found consistent medium-to-large effects on emotional exhaustion, work-related stress, and psychosocial distress across 27 studies.
What the research demonstrates is the mechanism: a structured, facilitator-led creative intervention can move the dimensions of burnout that rest alone doesn't.
That mechanism is what I bring into organizations, as a psychologist trained in art therapy. A limited number of corporate slots per quarter.
Share this with the person planning your team's next offsite.
