650 handmade tiles later… here we are.

What started as a conversation with and her team turned into one of the most defining projects of my career.

From the very beginning, I knew this was something special.
A challenge, yes! but also an opportunity to step into something bigger.

Working with and her team was a reminder of what it looks like when women in business support and trust each other.

This project became a true labor of love.

From developing the design and turning a 3D concept into a real mold,
to finding the right collaborators (thank you in Ponce .melt3d & .melt3d 🤍),
to long days in the workshop… 6:30am to 8:30pm, for weeks straight…

Every single one of the 650 tiles was made by hand.
Touched, finished, and brought to life by me.

Seeing it all come together, from a digital idea… to a physical space… to something people will experience every day. It’s surreal!

Five years ago, I started Novilla Home in a basement in New York,
making small concrete pieces and learning as I went.

Today, I’m standing in front of something that reflects growth, trust, and possibility.

This project reminded me that Novilla Home is capable of creating at scale…
without ever losing the essence of being handmade.

We are incredibly honored to be featured in this campaign by the Municipio de Isabela, highlighting an initiative that is so close to our hearts.

This project is about reopening schools impacted by closures and giving them a second life—creating spaces where local businesses can grow and where the community can once again come together, create, and thrive.

We are forever grateful for the opportunity to be part of this initiative and for having a space that has truly allowed us to grow Novilla Home.

Thank you to the Municipio de Isabela, and most especially to Miguel "Ricky" Méndez, for believing in our business, in our vision, and in the power of investing in local entrepreneurs and community.

This space represents second chances, growth, and what’s possible when a community is supported. 💛

Para todas las personas nuevas que nos descubrieron durante estos eventos navideños, quiero presentarme 🤍
Soy Marlene Medina, la persona detrás de NovillaHome.

Estas últimas tres semanas han estado llenas de apoyo, cariño y encuentros hermosos. Gracias a cada persona que pasó por nuestra mesa, que nos regaló una conversación, una sonrisa y su apoyo, y a quienes se llevaron una pieza de NovillaHome como regalo de Navidad o para su hogar.

Gracias, de todo corazón, por el amor y el respaldo que nos han brindado. A los nuevos seguidores, a los amigos que se han vuelto familia, a mi familia y a mi esposo : gracias por estar, por creer y por acompañarnos en este camino.

Gracias también y por creer en nuestra marca e invitarnos a ser parte de sus increíbles eventos navideños. Estaremos siempre agradecidos. ✨

Les presentamos Cloud ☁️, una pieza inspirada en las formas orgánicas y voluptuosas de las nubes y de las cerámicas que fluyen libremente.
Un diseño pequeño pero impactante — perfecto para regalar esta temporada. Ideal para colocar llaves, joyería, una velita… o simplemente lucir por sí solo en una mesa de café o entrada.

Esta pieza nació de una colaboración hermosa con .081 , quien tiene el don de tomar cada una de mis ideas y transformarlas en 3D para luego llevarlas al concreto. Traer estas visiones a la vida con él ha sido mágico. Es un talento difícil de encontrar y valoro profundamente su dedicación y la manera en que entiende mi creatividad.

Simplicity meets sculpture ✨

Introducing our very first Totem Side Table prototype — a piece I’ve been dreaming up for months. I wanted to design something functional, minimal, yet bold enough to make a statement. Inspired by the symbolism and form of totems in design history, this concrete piece reflects balance, intention, and presence.

We’re excited to debut it at Forma Corriente — a one-day celebration of Puerto Rican design happening July 19 from 11am–8pm at FAD in Puerta de Tierra.

Expect a curated gathering of local designers across apparel, industrial, ceramics, jewelry, and more — plus food, drinks, music, and community. Free and open to all.
