Balti Tibeti(Agay) Script Workshop is the first step taken by Odchun Rare Resources, in collaboration with Art Manzil, for the preservation and promotion of the Balti culture.
This will be a 10 days workshop where students will learn to read and write Balti Script. Students will be assigned a task to write a Balti folk song, qaseeda, or a story in Balti script and prepare it in the form of an artwork.

On 11th of April, we had the orientation session on the Balti Agay Script was a huge success! Our participants were introduced to the course outline, tasks, and benefits of learning this ancient script. We're thrilled to see the interest in preserving our cultural heritage and exploring its significance. Thanks to everyone who joined!

Balti Tibeti(Agay) Script Classes is the first step taken by Odchun Rare Resources, in collaboration with Art Manzil, for the preservation and promotion of the Balti culture.
This will be a three month short course where students will learn to read and write Balti Script. In addition to it, students will also learn about the calligraphic variation of this script, and will be assigned a task to prepare an artwork incorporating the Balti Script.

Note:
Course duration is 3 months, with classes on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, where certificates will be provided at the end of this course
Only students with 80% attendance will receive the certificate.

Sumwaar (ساموار):
It is a well decorated, bronze utensil, used in Gilgit-Baltistan,to serve tea on special occasions.
Although, it is similar to a kettle, it is different, in terms of structure, and purpose.
This utensil has two chambers. A central one, where burning coal is placed in order to keep the tea hot, and a surrounding one, where the tea is stored before serving. Similarly, the lid has two parts. The large lid, to cover the tea chamber, and the small lid, on top of the large one, for the central chamber.
Moreover, the bottom part is also a chamber, connected to the central one. The propose of this part is to ensure the air flow to the central chamber. Hence, the coal keeps on burning and tje tea is served hot.
Although, is is still used in some areas of Gilgit Baltistan, it is rare as there are no more production unit left. The few in use or in market are the last ones of it's kind.
