PAKISTAN--BRIEF INTRODUCTION:-
The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is located in southern Asia and surrounded by India, Afghanistan, Iran and China. Pakistan's climate is dry and generally hot, with an average annual temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. It has an area of about 796,095 square km, excluding the Pakistan-controlled Kashmir. Its population reached 165 million in 2009. The principal langua
ges in Pakistan are Urdu, Punjabi, Pushto, Sindhi and Saraiki. Urdu is its national language, and English is widely used in the country. Pakistan's state religion is Islam, embracing about over 95 percent of the population, and the remainder are mainly Hindus or Christians. The president is the head of state. The Federal Legislature consists of a lower house and an upper house. Pakistan comprises four provinces, the federal capital of Islamabad and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. The country 's gross domestic product amounted to about 154.4 billion U.S. dollars in the 2007/2008 fiscal year.
