Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu

A luxurious 4-star hotel in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu is formerly known as Hilton Resort and Spa Cebu, the hotel was rebranded as Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu and reopened last December 2012.

They offer a private beach where you can enjoy beach umbrellas, beach massages, and beachside drinks, plus you'll have access to onsite scuba diving, snorkeling, and parasailing. The outdoor pool provides a splash of fun, while guests in the mood for pampering can visit the spa to indulge in deep-tissue massages, body wraps, and aromatherapy. The Sails, one of 3 restaurants, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Other highlights at this luxurious resort include a marina, a poolside bar, and a health club. Fellow travelers like the helpful staff and bar.

Mendokoro Ramenba 🍜

I was so curious about the hype of this place, rumors said that they serve a hot quintessential ramen experience. Also, if you want to eat a close enough authentic Japanese ramen you need to visit this place.

Mendokoro translates to “shared table” in Nihongo. Their ramen bowls and other food items are assembled in the open kitchen right smack in the middle of the bar and are served as soon as they are done, just like how they serve ramen in Japan.

Virgie's BBQ ihawan 🍢

80's local favorite since American servicemen occupied Wallace Air Force. They serve different grilled pulutan but they are known for their melting sticky chicken feet. Even elders can eat this because it's so tender, it's like what they serve in Chinese dimsum places. A mouth watering grilled pulutan. Dip with their sweet and spicy gravy and spiced sukang Iloko, perfect combination. 🤤

Bantay Belfery / Belltower 🔔

The belfry was built in 1590; this magnificent structure is famous of its historical and cultural significance as it was used as a watchtower for pirates during the Spanish regime and gave the town its name “Bantay” which means “Guard”. Walking around the belfry is like stepping on the same grounds where Diego Silang and his troops were said to have fought with the Spaniards in 1763. It also served as watchtower for invading enemy forces during world wars I and II making use of its strategic location.
