Speculation and theories concerning what the last days have in store for us abound. In the hype of sensational books and movies, one important question is often obscured:

What did Jesus believe and teach about the end times and the timing of his return?

In his characteristically precise and compelling style, renowned theologian R.C. Sproul points us to the words of Christ as providing solid, biblical footing amid ever-shifting opinions about the age to come. He covers key questions, such as:
· What exactly did Jesus teach about the last days on Mount Olivet?
· What generation will witness the end?
· What did Paul teach in his letters?
· What did John teach in Revelation?
· When is the resurrection?
· When is the millennium?

In addition to answering these important questions about the last days, Dr. Sproul presents an authoritative explanation of biblical teaching about the end times and the timing of Christ's return.

When the Church Becomes Like the World (3rd Edition)
By John MacArthur

In the third edition of this top-selling book, John MacArthur challenges the seeker-sensitive, user-friendly, entertainment-oriented pragmatism that permeates the church today.

In the late 1800s, Charles Spurgeon warned that the church was drifting away from the purity of the gospel, candy-coating God's Word rather than boldly proclaiming the truths of Scripture. As a result, Christianity's influence in nineteenth-century England was severely weakened. One hundred years later, John MacArthur, troubled by the seeker-sensitive movement and an emphasis on pragmatism within the church, sounded the same alarm with the first edition of Ashamed of the Gospel.

In this newly revised and expanded edition, MacArthur gives an overview of developments in the seeker-sensitive movement since his book was first published in 1993. New material traces the line of pragmatic philosophy from the seeker-sensitive movement through the Emergent phenomenon, explaining why the latter is a philosophical heir of the former-and an even greater danger; chronicles the failure of pragmatic approaches to church growth; and emphasizes the importance of evangelicals solidly committed to biblical doctrine rising to positions of leadership.

**An Updated and Expanded Edition!**

Comprehensive and accessible, Formation of the Bible: The Story of the Church’s Canon is a succinct but detailed account of how the books of the Christian Bible were chosen.

Carefully documented and written in sterling prose, Lee Martin McDonald uses a lifetime of scholarship to tell one of history’s most remarkable stories—the story of the Judeo-Christian Bible. From the ancient texts of the Pentateuch, to the development of the LXX, to the Dead Sea Scrolls, to the Gospels and the rest of the New Testament, McDonald’s work educates, enriches, and edifies. Highly recommended.

This second edition includes charts with more precise dating, interactions with recent scholarship that elucidates the historical context of the relevant ancient literature, a new chapter on ancient pseudepigrapha in Judaism and early Christianity, and a bibliography bolstered by the addition of new and helpful resources for further study of canon formation.

A Biblical Theology
By James Hamilton Jr.

In Exodus 34 Moses asks to see God’s glory, and God reveals himself as a God who is merciful and just. James Hamilton Jr. contends that from this passage comes a biblical theology that unites the meta-narrative of Scripture under one central theme: God’s glory in salvation through judgment.

Hamilton begins in the Old Testament by showing that Israel was saved through God’s judgment on the Egyptians and the Caananites. God was glorified through both his judgment and mercy, accorded in salvation to Israel. The New Testament unfolds the ultimate display of God’s glory in justice and mercy, as it was God’s righteous judgment shown on the cross that brought us salvation. God’s glory in salvation through judgment will be shown at the end of time, when Christ returns to judge his enemies and save all who have called on his name.

Hamilton moves through the Bible book by book, showing that there is one theological center to the whole Bible. The volume’s systematic method and scope make it a unique resource for pastors, professors, and students.

Do you ever have a difficult time explaining why you believe what you believe? Are you ever hard-pressed for words when defending your faith? Do you ever look for answers and come up empty?

Author and renowned speaker Josh McDowell and son, Sean McDowell, have teamed up to write “The Unshakable Truth: How You Can Experience the 12 Essentials of a Relevant Faith”. They are also the authors of the popular “More Than a Carpenter” and many other Christian books.

“The Unshakable Truth” is part apologetics and part Christian living, and it includes twelve unshakable truths.

•12 Truths•

Truth One: God Exists
Truth Two: God’s Word
Truth Three: Original Sin
Truth Four: God Became Human
Truth Five: Christ’s Atonement For Sin
Truth Six: Justification Through Faith
Truth Seven: Living the Transformed Life
Truth Eight: Jesus’ Bodily Resurrection
Truth Nine: The Trinity
Truth Ten: God’s Kingdom
Truth Eleven: The Church
Truth Twelve: The Return of Christ

Basically, this book spells out what a Christian believes. Additionally, it provides evidence for our Christian beliefs and proof that what we believe is true and real. “The Unshakable Truth” is scripture based and provides historical and scientific evidence and practical examples. I have never been more confident about sharing my faith than after reading this book.

Not only is “The Unshakable Truth” an interesting and educational read, it is also a great resource to help you explain your faith to seekers and non-believers. My copy of this book is now worn, filled with fluorescent yellow markings, highlighting the facts of faith, along with notes and additional findings. Unquestionably, if you are new to Christianity and are looking for answers, this book is for you. However, if you are a mature Christian and are looking for ways to evangelize or to simply defend your faith, this book is also for you.

Though this book is filled with theological and biblical truths I could not put it down. Lastly, the information is well organized and McDowells’ stories are incredibly enjoyable and even humorous. This book is a must-read for every Christian, seeker and non-believer.

Michael Horton's highly anticipated The Christian Faith represents his magnum opus and will be viewed as one of---if not the---most important systematic theologies since Louis Berkhof wrote his in 1932. A prolific, award-winning author and theologian, Professor Horton views this volume as 'doctrine that can be preached, experienced, and lived, as well as understood, clarified, and articulated.' It is written for a growing cast of pilgrims making their way together and will be especially welcomed by professors, pastors, students, and armchair theologians.

Features of this volume include: (1) a brief synopsis of biblical passages that inform a particular doctrine; (2) surveys of past and current theologies with contemporary emphasis on exegetical, philosophical, practical, and theological questions; (3) substantial interaction with various Christian movements within the Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodoxy traditions, as well as the hermeneutical issues raised by postmodernity; and (4) charts, sidebars, questions for discussion, and an extensive bibliography, divided into different entry levels and topics.

From the Back Cover
An in-depth look at a God who not only loves, but is love.

Love has come to mean many things. It’s used to describe emotions. It’s the glue for relationships. It frames countless stories.

And the greatest of these stories opens before time began and echoes throughout eternity. It’s the story of God’s unrelenting, overwhelming love for His people. Yet the truth of love is even more majestic, more staggering, and more extraordinary than we can understand: God doesn’t just love us. He is love.

Renowned theologian and teacher Dr.R.C. Sproul takes a remarkable look at this most profound truth. God’s Love delves deep into Scripture to explore this dynamic attribute of God, which finds its ultimate expression in His Son. Dr. Sproul also examines seeming paradoxes of God, such as a loving God and divine hate, and how love coexists with His sovereignty. Practical, insightful, and revolutionary, God’s Love compels and calls us to reflect His nature of unconditional love.
