A new manufacturing investment is positioning the Philippines in the global luxury goods supply chain.
Coach Bags Now Made In PH As $10M Factory Opens In Bataan
Coach bags are now being produced in the Philippines following the opening of a $10 million manufacturing facility in the Freeport Area of Bataan. The factory is operated by FCF Manufacturing, a local unit of China-based Fashion Focus, under the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan. Fashion Focus, along with its affiliate Merit Focus, selected the Philippines as its first expansion site outside China, bringing over 30 years of experience in luxury bag production. AFAB Chairman Deogracias Custodio said the facility is expected to employ around 1,000 workers in its first year, with plans to expand to 4,000 as operations grow. Production began in mid-2012, strengthening local employment and the country’s role in global luxury manufacturing.
