“HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF”
NARRATOR: Blas had been thinking a long time about how to tell his father about marrying his girlfriend Fiona.
BLAS: Father, I want to marry Fiona so we can be together.
DODONG: What? But son, you're still young, and what about your studies? you have a lot of things you can do.
BLAS: But father, I don't want to study anymore. I'll continue helping you on the farm. And I know I can handle the responsibility.
NARRATOR: And suddenly, Dodong remembered his past and felt sad in his heart.
TEANG: Blas, your father is right. Think about it carefully.
BLAS: But mom, even if you say I'm young, I know I'm ready. I love Fiona and I will marry her.
NARRATOR: One day Carlo (his friend) saw him looking sad, that's why he decided to talk to him.
CARLO: Blas is everything ok? Maybe I can help you.
(Malungkot na tiningnan ni Blas ang kaibigan)
BLAS: My parents don't want me to marry Fiona.
(Nagkibit balikat naman si Carlo)
CARLO: Well I guess, they're thinking about your future Blas.
BLAS: But why can't they understand? I will work hard on the farm like they did.
(Napailing na lamang si Carlo, sabay hawak sa balikat ng kaibigan)
CARLO: Whatever you decide, I'm here for you friend.
NARRATOR: And Blas stood firm. His parents eventually agreed even though it hurts them and worries their son. After all the preparation, four months later Blas and Fiona got married.
And Blas kept his promise to himself and to Fiona, he worked hard on the farm with his father.
After a year, Blas and Fiona had a baby boy named Carl.
One afternoon Blas came home tired and hungry. He called his wife Fiona.
BLAS: Fiona.. Fiona.. please make me some coffee.
(Ngunit nagmamadaling tumakbo si Fiona papunta sa kanya)
FIONA: Blas! Our son has a high fever! We need to take him to the hospital in a hurry.
BLAS: What?
(At nagmamadali nilang dinala sa ospital ang bata)
NARRATOR: Two days later, Blas saw Fiona alone and crying.
BLAS: Why are you crying Fiona?
FIONA: Blas, don't you see? We can't afford a good hospital for our son because we have no money.
(Patuloy na umiiyak si Fiona)
BLAS: But I worked hard on the farm and did my best! Don't you see?
(Fiona, tumingin ng galit kay Blas)
FIONA: But it's not enough!
BLAS: What do you want me to do?
(Dumating ang kanilang mga magulang at nakita silang nagtatalo)
TEANG: Will you please stop fighting, and let's help each other instead.
DODONG: BLAS, let's find a way to help your son.
NARRATOR: One month later, Carl recovered but life was still tough for Blas and Fiona. They wondered if they made a mistake upon getting married so young.
One day, while Fiona walked home she saw a crowd of people.
FIONA: Huh! What's going on? Why are there so many people there?
NARRATOR: She approached the hall and saw her former teacher, Mrs Reyes speaking.
Mrs. REYES: Our advocacy is to provide financial and moral support to those who want to continue their education. It's a free program from the government.
NARRATOR: Fiona listened until the meeting was finished, then turned to leave. When she heard a voice calling her.
Mrs. REYES: Fiona! Fiona!
(Nahihiya siyang lumingon dahil alam niyang si Mrs. Reyes iyon)
Mrs. REYES: Fiona it's you! How are you?
(Nahihiya siyang sumagot)
FIONA: Ahm, I'm okay ma'am.
(Napangiti naman sa kanya si Mrs. Reyes bago muling nagsalita ito)
Mrs. REYES: I heard you got married and stopped studying.
(Tuluyan namang napayuko si Fiona)
Mrs.REYES: Don't be shy Fiona and don't you think it's too late for you. There's a lot of opportunities waiting for you, you're young and smart.
FIONA: Thank you ma'am
(Hinawakan ni Mrs.Reyes ang kanyang kamay)
Mrs. Reyes: I will be happy to see you in our program Fiona. Good luck!
(Malungkot na tumango si Fiona)
NARRATOR: As she walked, she can't avoid thinking about her teachers words and remembering her past advice.
She wished she had listened, instead of following her heart.
Two weeks later before the program will start, Fiona decides to study again. She told Blas and he supported her.
It was tough for Fiona balancing school.. being a mom to her son.. and being a wife to Blas.. but she never gives up, hoping that she can make it.
Four years later, after so much suffering she graduated with honors as an accountant.
With the help of her scholarship and people who loved her, she became successful.
And on her big day (graduation)
the people who believed in her were there.
And everyone congratulated her..
“Congratulations”
BLAS: Congratulations Fiona! You didn't give up, despite all the struggles and hardships.
FIONA: Thank you Blas, for your support. Now it's your turn Blas, I’ll help you achieve your dreams like you help me.
BLAS: What do you mean?
FIONA: You say, you also want to continue your study before and I'm here to support you. I will help you to achieve your goals, like you supported me.
(Napangiti si Blas sa narinig)
BLAS: Thank you Fiona.
FIONA: You're always welcome Blas.
NARRATOR: Fiona was sure they will have a bright future now with Blas. And she's happy thinking that all their hard work was paying off.

But the beautiful thing is we were given hope… a chance… a chance to start anew and make things right. Even if
