Reintroducing myself through jewellery past and present 💫

My mother kept her jewellery in a woven basket that sat on a small cane bookshelf by the stairs, just within my reach.

I looked through it often, and many of her pieces have travelled into the jewellery boxes of us kids - the metal moon was hers, the glass one is from my solar return collection 🌝

Sometimes I'd get gifted those plastic jewellery kits. I treasured them and began to collect my own supplies to make necklaces with elastic.

In high-school, I chopped the hand off one of my old Barbies and created my infamous and iconic hand necklace - sadly I've lost it, but I recently got my old barbies back...

The yin and yang pendant was also my mother's, I still have it, safely stored in a little tooth fairy box.

I officially started making jewellery in 2018, to satisfy my want for retro jewellery and because earrings had becoms a way to express my personal style while washing dishes professionally.

I remember where every piece of jewellery I have came from; if it was from an op shop, a gift or made by someone else.

I don't know how many pieces I have, but I need to dust and organise everything and I'm thinking of making a video of my collection, if that would be interesting - it will be long and I will go on tangents 🥴💖

It's been over a year, but Kento is returning!
The Kento store will be open again tomorrow @✨7PM✨

The past couple of years have been difficult, but I am so grateful for all the love and support that Kento has received since I began this journey 4 years ago, thank you all 🥰

💖 New Earrings Alert 💖

So excited to share one of the Pohutukawa designs I have been working on ✨

There are four pairs on www.kentostore.com for $50 each 💕

I had hoped to get the other designs out before Kirihimete but things have gotten on top of me a little and it's best if I save them for the new year 🎉

I also wanted to put out the word that if you've been eyeing up anything on the site for Christmas it's best if you place your order before the end of the week - I post everything by NZ Post Courier so can send any final Christmas orders on Monday 23 December but I'd hate for anyone to not receive their package on time 🌲

I'm kind of exhausted but also feel very fulfilled and happy 💖

Also feel very fortunate that my new day job is opposite a post shop so I can get your goodies out to you pronto 😅👌
