It’s time we think, to re-introduce you to the creative force behind STASITA Jeweller!
Meet Paul Greenfield, the quiet, steady & brilliant heart & soul of STASITA. Born to a Samoan mum who left earth side when he was 10 years old - Paul’s cultural roots are deeply tied in with celebrating her effusive and irrepressible spirit and preserving her memories. Born in Auckland, with stints of living in Christchurch and Whanganui - Auckland feels like a fitting place to bring to fruition the dreams of creating stunning Pasifika culture-infused luxury jewellery.
On any given weekday, you will find Paul at his bench in his Papakura workshop and studio even before the birds awake. Over the 3+ decades in the jewellery trade, Paul has honed his skills as a bit of an all-rounder - making STASITA a one-stop-shop for all your jewellery needs.
Paul is most passionate about creating, retaining and passing on his artisanal skills in jewellery-making. In a world of AI, digital excellence and mass-produced jewellery - the sphere of talented individuals that handcraft meaningful pieces of jewellery is shrinking fast. Paul is committed to being part of the ‘last-frontier’ of jewellers that continue to use, grow and excel in the art of using their hands to create meaningful beauty, from start to finish. Paul’s Pasifika roots and its ability to produce genuine and natural Pasifika talent is a steady guiding light that helps keep his handcrafting skills at the forefront of his creative practice.
When he isn’t crafting, Paul finds joy in the simple things of life and in time spent with his family. His experience in cabinet-making as a young’un make him a pretty good DIY’er!
If you are after a meaningful piece of jewellery, or have an interest in training to be a gem-setter, pop into our Papakura studio to have a chat. We’d be excited to meet you!
