This summer we trialled a new concept called Club Aotearoa - a collection of modern souvenirs inspired by the places, people and landscapes that make New Zealand special.

As always, we couldn’t help but weave a little bit of Tarras into the range too.

Over the coming weeks, Gemma and I are heading to Australia to explore new ideas, products and possibilities as we continue to shape what Club Aotearoa could become.

It’s still early days, but we’re excited by the potential.

Watch this space.

We love celebrating local makers and are delighted to welcome the beautiful new stationery collection from Botanic Press to our Village Store.

Created by the lovely Emma, the range includes thoughtfully designed notebooks and delicate pressed flower cards inspired by the beauty of nature.

Pop in next time you’re passing through and discover these little treasures for yourself.

Every evening as I leave the office, I walk past this photo of Mum with Shrek.

It’s a beautiful reminder of her warmth, kindness and love, but also of how much she cherished this place. Tarras wasn’t just where she worked - it was a place she poured her heart into.

I love that even now, you can still feel her presence around the village. In the stories, the people, and the little things she created that continue to live on today.

No two days are ever the same at Tarras Village.

Around here, we all turn our hands to whatever needs doing - including sewing little Shrek coats for the sheep that head off to new homes.

I’m never quite sure how to describe Gemma’s role. Officially she’s our Production Manager at PERRIAM, but in reality she’s a bit of everything - problem solver, organiser, maker, friend, counsellor 😂🫣 and all-round legend.

This week it was Shrek coat duty! I wonder what next week will bring eh Gem 😳🤣🫪😍

Meet our new maintenance man… who may or may not have come out of retirement for this role 🔨😂

Stu comes with a long list of credentials, but perhaps his most impressive one is simply being Callum’s dad.

Retirement seems to be going well Stu… although we’re not entirely convinced this still counts as retirement.

We honestly love having family around us helping bring the vision for the village to life. Say hi to our maintenance man if you see him around the village 😆

We had such a fun event last night to celebrate .mathisen ‘s new book A Year at Awakino Station. Jaz talked about motherhood and being the station cook. We had such a great turn out. People were excited to be out and to be social. We can’t wait for the next event.
