What's on your bobbins?

It's Spinning Sunday this weekend, where some of us get our only chance each month to sit and spin! BYO wheel or spindle and spin with company from 12pm - 2pm on Sunday 30 August.

It isn't a teaching time but people are always happy to help troubleshoot or give gentle advice if needed.

If you'd like to borrow a wheel, we do have a couple available, but this needs to be organised in advance.

Feeling shy? Come along anyway! You can talk as much or as little as you like.

Curious about our Intro to Intarsia class?

We still have spots left to this fun class which is really painting with yarn. If you can knit and purl, you can give intarsia a go - and open up a whole new world of design options.

No longer the realm of garish 80s sweaters (although we do have a soft spot for them...), intarsia is making a comeback as a way to play with colour in a more abstract and organic way.

Join us on Saturday 29 August from 10:30am - 12:30pm at the shop for this class - book online or in-store!

Do you love Dark Harbour Yarn ? Yeah, us too, Nikki is one of our favourite dyers!

So we're super excited to have the chance to host Nikki for a pop-up again - and probably buy quite a bit for ourselves 🤓

Come by for a browse, a coffee, a biscuit and good company:

Craft tours are back!

For World of WearableArt (WOW) season we're doing another couple of tours for those of us who love books, yarn, sewing, and eating.

Join us as we wind our way from Wellington to:
- Lower Hutt for a stop at the shop for coffee and morning tea
- a mini-class at Mish Mash Make
- Featherston to browse bookshops
- Martinborough to enjoy lunch at Moy Hall
- Greytown to visit Mrs Blackwell's Village Bookshop and Miss Maude

and then back to Wellington in time for your WOW evening if you're going.

We have two tours, on Saturday 19 Sept and Saturday 26 September. Oh and it includes a goody bag, did I mention?

Book online now - our first one sold out super fast so don't miss out!

So well deserved by this local knitting group! A couple of those beanies have made it to our house as both Tash and Jess' have kids at one of the schools that are lucky to receive the knitting care from Naenae Knitting Natters 🫶

Phonetic Phun Yarn Club goes on sale today at 9am!

My first Knitsch Yarn Club in years, we'll take a journey through the phonetic alphabet over 26 skeins of yarn. For word and colour lovers alike, and those who love to hide messages in their stitches.

We'll celebrate women who carried secret messages in their yarn, and take delight in a choose-your-own adventure pattern where you can knit swear words or love words or silly words into your project.

The kit will contain treats and ship in time for you to open one a day from 1 December, if doing an advent is your thing.

Choose from either high twist merino perfect for socks, or regular 4ply merino for shawls and garments.

I truly can't wait to share this project with you!
