Grace O’Malley’s Irish Inn! Check out the Irish toast I first saw 2 years ago. I incorporated it into The Farmer Takes a Wife’s last chapter as I was so taken by it. Love being inspired unexpectedly. Can any of my readers find it near the end of the book? Slightly amended by moi! X

After 2021 when I barely managed to edit my second book, lost impetus in looking for a publisher and dreaded more self publishing I’ve gotten over myself!

2022 goals:
*self publish Deadly Sins if I don’t get anywhere by Easter - even last month I had two new readers of The Farmer Takes a Wife who loved it! Who cares if 100 people read the sequel and not 100,000
*Write because I want to, need to and love to - just started book #3 and am loving getting stuck in again (more about that once I’m well on the way - but a little taster - family saga set in NZ 1940s to 1980s)
*Accept I’m not giving up the day job anytime soon but I can make sure I fit in writing ✍️ as something essential now to my well-being - must fit it in!
Not NY resolutions - they are an imaginary list that include:
Get fit
Eat less
Drink only weekly allowance
Stop being a bitch except in my novels
Get up early to exercise
Refuse 🎂, 🍭 and all sugary bad things - develop discipline so I can avoid temptation
Be serene
Stop hating people who sleep well - they’re just lucky 🍀 not actively rubbing my insomniac nose in it
Forgive those who seek to hurt me - scrub that one! Screw them!

I’m still trying to find an agent or publisher but may be on a hiding to nothing being already self published. This school holiday’s task is to submit ‘Deadly Sins’ to see if that can get me into the publishing world. Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement x

Occasional book sale requests and my readers who I see in person keep me going with their interest and support.

I’m in a waiting game having submitted to a long list of publishers and agents, mainly UK as well as NZ and US. Many large publishers aren’t taking any new manuscripts due to the overwhelming numbers already submitted. Covid has unleashed a huge wave of creativity - as I know so well. It looks like self publishing my debut novel ‘The Farmer Takes a Wife’ may mean it’s lost its chance BUT if I get nowhere out in the world with it by July I will start the process of submitting ‘Deadly Sins’

Thank you for being patient. I’ve started to write some short stories - so you might get some of my writing soon. Another first - I’m considering entering an esteemed NZ writing competition......it’s good to keep challenging myself 😬

And I have several ideas for historical stories set in NZ but need to see what happens to my first 2 novels first - be assured the brain is still mulling and daydreaming x

Just so you know I have still been creative. Started learning about 4 weeks ago and am loving it. Never thought I could play an instrument but have discovered the instrument will find you! It’s so absorbing and is actually helping me mull over what to write next.
Still have several weeks to wait for most submission replies - have had a couple of rejections but I am not knocked down (yet) - I need, the right agent / publisher to find me just as the ukele did 😍

So instead of writing ✍️....... any guesses what I am attempting?
