WHAT'S YOUR METRIC FOR BEAUTY

Earlier this year I read Mark Manson's book the Subtle Art of Not Giving A * #* #.

Great book by the way.

One of the key points he made in his book that really stood out for me was the illustration he gave about an initial member of The Beatles(a popular band that sold millions of records of their songs back then, still regarded as legends in their genre of music).

Now this Guy got kicked out of the band just as they were entering into fame, and he was sooooo upset and he promised himself that he would create a new band, put together his own group and the ultimate goal was to outshine and outperform The Beatles.

This guy became a massive success, his records also sold in millions but was in no way close to the incredible success of his former team. The Beatles.

In an exclusive interview with him, he emotionally recounted the incident of being kicked out of his group and betrayed by his friends and even with all the money he had amassed and his massive success he still regarded himself as a failure because of his metric for success.

His metric for success was beating his former band and no matter how well he did, he never saw himself as a success.

Sad right?

So explain to me why you have tied your mind around a particular trend or body type as your metric for beauty.

You do not consider yourself beautiful until you have satisfied the requirements of a particular trend.

If you haven't cinched your waist to minimum capacity and reduced your ability to inhale and exhale freely by 20% ,you really believe that you aren't looking your best.

This is not to say I have anything corset, it's beautiful in its forms but it's not a standard for Beauty.

It's not a requirement for a beautiful attire

Change your Metric.

LEARN YOUR BODY, LOVE YOUR BODY
Earlier this year I was talking to someone (a lady), she was dressing to go out and she said she can't wear a sleeveless top that really went great with the trousers she had on because someone told her that she has fat arms.

I remember looking at her from head to toe, like literally eyeballing her waiting to see if the fat arms will be revealed.

But nothing.

This person that made this comment said what she said years ago, but it had stuck with this lady and was influencing , actually limiting her fashion choices.

The commenter is not even her friend or family member yet a comment made in the moment was enough to create a complex for another person.

In all honesty she didn't have fat arms, her arms were "Body Appropriate".

Our Creator doesn't have impaired vision, you are balanced. Your body is Good.

You were created and called Perfect/Masterpiece. If someone has told you that you cannot wear this because you're fair

It won't fit you because your body blah blah blah
People of your skin tone cannot yen yen yen
Your head is too big , you're too fat, too slim, your legs are too long.

They need to shut up.

Are they professionals, do they have the technical knowledge to prescribe an attire for you?

If the answer to that is No. They need to Shut the hell up.

Shut all the way up to shut up mountain until there are no more ups to shut

As entitled as we are to our opinions you do not take medical prescriptions from a lay man, you talk to a doctor.

So darling, you don't take fashion criticism from a layman talk to a fashion consultant

I hope this frees you to be your most beautiful self and explore the vast world of fashion (colours, texture, style)
