The Most Used Item in Every Hospital.

Every injection. Every blood draw. Every IV push. Every vaccination.
They all start with one thing — a syringe.

It is so common in healthcare that most people never stop to think about it. But the syringe in a nurse's hand right now is doing something precise, controlled, and safety-critical. And not all syringes are built to do that equally well.

So what makes a quality syringe?
A quality syringe has a smooth, consistent plunger that moves without resistance or sudden jerks. It has clear graduation markings that are accurate and easy to read, because a 2ml dose and a 5ml dose are not the same thing, and misreading a syringe in a clinical setting has consequences.

1. Clean it properly after every use: Not with whatever cleaning agent is closest, but with the right one for that specific device. The wrong chemical on the wrong surface causes more damage than most people realise.

2. Let it rest correctly: Equipment that is switched off abruptly instead of properly powered down, or left on 24/7 when it should be cycled, ages faster than it should. Check the manufacturer's guidance on power cycles.
