He was a bus conductor, from Ramah Park back to Ogbaazu in Delta State. He occasionally used his father’s Toyota Crown vehicle to convey people to their respective destination as a kabu-kabu (taxi) -driver. He also loaded bottles in Super Breweries.

His break came when he decided to tap into his skills, abilities, and experiences as a comic actor. This paid off because people recognised him when he ventured into comedy.

So when he started doing stand-ups, they were one of the first people that he visited and they were like, “you are the one that loads crates!”

Many a times we look outside ourselves for help to do something, thus doubting God’s ability to use that which he had placed in us, take our little and make it into something more than enough for us.

It's World mental health day and l thought of sharing the various ways you can take care of your mental wellness. Ensure to take action after the read.

1. Value Yourself:

Treat yourself with kindness and respect, and avoid self-criticism. Make time for your hobbies and favorite projects, or broaden your horizons. Do a daily crossword puzzle, plant a garden, take dance lessons, learn to play an instrument or become fluent in another language.

2. Keep Active and Eat Healthy Foods.

Healthy eating can help improve your body's wellness. Eat nutritious meals and drink plenty of water.

Always find time for exercise, which helps decrease depression and anxiety and improve moods.

3. Get Enough Sleep.

Researchers believe that lack of sleep contributes to a high rate of depression in young people.

Ensure you sleep at least 6 to 8 hours per day.

4. Surround Yourself With Good People:

It has been proven that most people with strong family or social connections are generally healthier than those who lack a support network.

Find time to engage with supportive family members and friends, or seek out activities where you can meet new people, such as Society meetings, class or support group.

All work and no get together with family members can reduce your mental wellness.

5. Learn to Help Others to Succeed.

You will agree with me that there is this level of wellness and peace that come to you after every episode of help you render to someone else. Do more of that.

Volunteer your time and energy to help people around you.

You'll feel good about doing something tangible to help someone in need.

Don't forget that at some point in your life, someone helped you.

Most men die early as a result of stress. Like it or not, stress is a part of life but can be managed.

7. Quiet Your Mind:

Try meditating, Mindfulness and/or prayer.
