The Sweet Surprise
For months, I had been supplying honey to various customers, including a supermarket owner who buys regularly but had not placed an order in a while. I assumed she had found another supplier or simply didn’t need honey anymore. Life got busy, and I never followed up.
One afternoon, I walked into that very supermarket to pick up a few things. As I browsed the shelves, I suddenly heard a familiar voice behind me.
“Oh my goodness! I can’t believe this!”
I turned around to see the supermarket owner, beaming with excitement.
“I’ve been looking for your number everywhere! We ran out of your honey weeks ago, and customers keep asking for it. I wanted to place a big order, but I just couldn’t reach you!”
A wave of joy washed over me. We quickly exchanged contact details again, and right there, she placed an order for a large quantity of honey.
As I left the store, I couldn’t stop smiling. This chance encounter reminded me of an important lesson—never assume a customer is no longer interested. Always stay in touch! If I had reached out earlier, I could have secured the order much sooner.
From that day on, I made it a habit to check in with my customers regularly. And just like that, my honey business grew sweeter than ever.
