First, Bambi's girlfriend Mide finds incriminating evidence on his phone about his shenanigans which led her to chase him out of her house, in the middle of the night, during the pandemic.

As if that was not enough, he decided to hide out in his uncle's house but found himself stuck between two women- Aunty Bidemi, his uncle's wife and Efosa his uncle's girlfriend and his one night stand- fighting over a child.

Since peace and quiet was not an option, Bambi had to be the referee of the situation until they could do a DNA test.

The Baby is Mine is a quick read about some of the crazy scenarios people can find themselves in and how complicated family history can be.

The story was comical and the characters were a little crazy as expected. Overall, it was a good read but I felt like the ending was rushed and alot of references deserved more explanation.

All Azere had to do while living in Canada was to pick an Edo husband from the different men her mother set her up with. Seems easy right? Instead, she goes ahead to get pregnant from a one night stand with a white, I mean Spanish (according to her mother, they are all the same) man which goes against the promise she made to her father on his dying bed.

Stuck between her family ties and what she wants, Azere has to make a decision for herself but how easy will that be when her mother has given her an ultimatum and the man she wants to be with has secrets?

Ties That Tether is a love story, an in*******al love story that has the usual elements of family drama, undramatic climax and a predictable resolution.

It is a fun read if you are a romantic that wants to see the usual Happily Ever After with a mix of Nigerian, Italian and Canadian culture.

The story was direct, easy to follow and had lovable characters.

By God! It has been a long time since I read something so Nigerian that i could relate with all the stories.

Nearly All The Men In Lagos Are Mad tell tales of different stories and experiences you will be familiar with as a Lagosian and Nigerian.

From cheating men, to rapists, to closeted men, the stories hit close to home and even when you find a story hilarious, the moral of the story cannot be ignored.

It is hard for me to pick a favorite story but the last story gave the kind of ending and closure abused women can only dream of.

For a book that started with a bang, the pace did not slow down at any point!

Thank you for telling us why Lagos men will always be Lagos men😂

After five years in jail for "killing" her boyfriend Scotty, Kenna is free and wants only one thing, to be united with her baby girl Diem who she never got to hold for one minute.

This will be no easy feat because everyone in Diem's life -Granddad, Grandma and Scotty's best friend Ledger- is determined to keep her away and protect Diem.

This book tells a story of redemption, second chances, family and how forgiveness frees you. Collen Hoover has once again shown that hurting people hurt people and sometimes the best thing you can do is let go and breath easy.

Even though it was a short read, the book dragged at some point and I felt it could have ended earlier. Certain dialogues were not important to the backstory but I enjoyed the letters.

It was a good read and Colleen Hoover is still the queen of writing heartbreaking stories that you can't help but love😊

P.S Colleen Hoover writes stories that will break your heart but once you get hooked on her, you wont be able to stop.

I Wish You All The Best tells the coming of age and sexuality of Benji.

Benji is a perfect child with good grades who still feels like something huge is missing. When they discovers the reason why and open up to parents about being non-binary, Ben is kicked out of their home and life as they knows it.

For someone with anxiety issues, Ben didnt expect their life to be turned upside for living their truth. Ben's only solace is to live with their sister who Ben hasn't seen in ten years and start life fully by owning their identity..or not.

As an individual, despite how many movies i have seen and research I have carried out, this book answers some very important questions about the Community.

I particularly enjoyed the conversations between the main character and the therapists, their sister and friends as it shows that acceptance and adjustments to pronoun changes are not as automatic as some people think.

If you want to try out an LGBTQ+ book or you're always familiar with it, I highly recommend this read.

Imagine, one day, you're at home, minding your business and a young girl comes to the door claiming she has a note from your husband, a note that simply says "protect her".

Imagine that your sixteen year old step daughter comes back from school with a strange duffle bag that she found in her locker that contains a cryptic note from her dad and six hundred thousand dollars +?

Just imagine, that you also saw on the news that your husband's company is involved in fraud and everyone is looking for him?

All. In. One. Day.

Phew!

That's how this story started and I got hooked immediately to the plot. I'm a huge fan of thrillers so I wanted to find out what the whole hullabaloo was about.

In zero time, Hannah finds out that her husband, Owen Micheals is missing and is not really Owen Micheals.

In her quest to find out what he is running from, she discovers details about his past life, his daughter and that people are not who they really are.

The story started with the right pace for a suspense novel but it got boring and I had to drag myself through it with the hope that the end will be worth it.

The ending/big reveal was anti climactic and not what I was hoping for. I was expecting a dark twisted ending so maybe the problem is with me right?

Overall, it was a fair read and I will try other books by the author before I dismiss her works totally.

Let's talk about important things, books😍

One thing I love more than selling books and watching sad movies is reading books. The Trouble With Hating You is one of the books I have read this year and mehn, it was worth it.

I love Indian books because it is refreshing and new to the scene but I love this book more because it was a typical matchmaking situation gone wrong..and then right.

Liya and Jay made me laugh, smile and sad with their experiences as they explored themes like gender equality, sexual abuse, feminism, culture, stigmatization and family pressure to mention a few.

The most beautiful part of the story is the realistic ending😁
