I am so hurt after watching what happened to 28-year-old Ogidi Mena in Delta State
Let me say this clearly and with the full weight of the law behind it
Section 33 of the 1999 Constitution guarantees the RIGHT TO LIFE. No police officer has the right to take that life except in very strict situations. This was not one of them. Under the Criminal Code, what happened here points to one thing “MURDER.”
Now let’s talk like real people
A parcel arrived at the park. They asked the boy who came to pick it:
“What is inside?”
He said:
“My friend sent me.”
Simple question:
👉 Why didn’t they focus on the Person who sent the Parcel?
Who should the law be interested in?
The messenger or the owner of the g0n?
From that moment, the investigation already went wrong.
Then the police came as officers on duty. They met a man who was already tied, already dis@rmed, already surrounded. No threat, no danger. Yet ASP Ogbegbe pulled the trigger, Sh0t him. He didn’t d!e
They carried him alive into the police vehicle and instead of taking him inside for investigation, at the station he was shot again and again and again until he d!ed.
Let’s stop pretending:
👉 That is not arrest.
👉 That is not investigation.
👉 That is Extra-judicial k!lling.
But here is where it gets even more disturbing
The same man who could have led the police to the sender, the source of the g0n, the possible network was silenced.
So let me ask the question many people are afraid to ask:
👉 Why was he killed before he could talk?
Was it anger?
Or was someone trying to make sure certain names are never mentioned?
And it doesn’t end there from the video a
colleague gave him bullets others were cheering him on in the background this is no longer one “trigger-happy officer”. This becomes a team act.
And in law if you assist, encourage, or stand by this becomes:
👉 A possible case of aiding and abetting
👉 Concerted misconduct by officers of the Nigeria Police Force
Every single officer present must answer for this.
The Nigeria Police Force was created to:
🥢 Arrest
🥢 Investigate
🥢 Prosecute
Not to decide who lives or d!es. Because once the police become judge and executioner
None of us is safe anymore.
If a suspect is guilty, the court will decide.
If he is innocent, only a trial would have revealed it.
But now?
That truth has been buried with him and that is the real tragedy. Justice in this case must go beyond suspension or parade.
It must answer:
👉 Who sent the weapon?
👉 Why was that lead ignored?
👉 Why was lethal force used on a restrained suspect?
👉 Who else enabled this act?
Because if this is ignored today, tomorrow it could be anyone.
Justice for Ogidi Mena is not just about one life.
It is about whether the law still means anything in our dear country.
