When you press the floor button in the elevator, you are not just requesting to go up or down, but you are sending a signal to a smart system that immediately starts working. At the top of the elevator shaft, there is a powerful electric motor connected to a steel cable that wraps around a pulley. This cable connects the elevator car to a counterweight whose weight is close to the weight of the car to reduce effort and energy. When the motor is running, the pulley rotates, so the car goes up or down smoothly. During movement, electronic units control the elevator's speed and acceleration so that you do not feel any sudden vibration. On the sides, there are metal bars that keep the car straight and prevent it from tilting. Safety is the most important story. If the cable breaks for any very rare reason, automatic brakes engage, gripping the bars and stopping the elevator immediately. Sensors also ensure that it stops precisely at the exact floor level. All these systems work together silently to make the elevator ride seem simple, while behind it is a complex engineering that protects you every second of going up and down.
عندما تضغط زر الطابق في المصعد فأنت لا تطلب الصعود أو النزول فقط بل ترسل إشارة إلى نظام ذكي يبدأ فورًا بالعمل، في أعلى بئر المصعد يوجد محرك كهربائي قوي متصل بحبل فولاذي يلتف حول بكرة، هذا الحبل يربط كابينة المصعد بثقل موازن وزنه قريب من وزن الكابينة لتقليل الجهد والطاقة، عند تشغيل المحرك تدور البكرة فتصعد الكابينة أو تهبط بسلاسة، وخلال الحركة تتحكم وحدات إلكترونية في سرعة المصعد وتسارعه حتى لا تشعر بأي اهتزاز مفاجئ، وعلى الجوانب توجد قضبان معدنية تحافظ على استقامة الكابينة وتمنع ميلانها، أما الأمان فهو القصة الأهم فلو انقطع الحبل لأي سبب نادر جدًا تنغلق مكابح تلقائية تمسك بالقضبان وتوقف المصعد فورًا، كما أن الحساسات تضمن توقفه بدقة عند مستوى الطابق تمامًا، كل هذه الأنظمة تعمل معًا في صمت لتجعل رحلة المصعد تبدو بسيطة بينما خلفها هندسة معقدة تحميك في كل ثانية من الصعود والهبوط.
