He laughed.
That was how everything started.
“Being a wife is easy,” he said proudly, sitting comfortably while his wife ran around the house — cooking, carrying the baby, cleaning, sweating.
“All you people do is stay at home.”
His wife looked at him, tired but calm, and said one thing:
“One day… you will understand.”
He laughed again.
That night, he slept like a king.
But the next morning… he woke up into something he was not ready for.
At first, it felt normal — until he tried to stand.
Something was wrong.
His body felt different.
His clothes felt strange.
His voice… softer.
Confused, he rushed to the mirror…
…and froze.
Because staring back at him…
was his wife.
“I am finished!” he screamed.
Before he could even understand what was happening, a voice shouted from outside:
“Wake up! Go and fetch water!”
That was how his nightmare began.
From carrying heavy buckets before sunrise…
to cooking while a baby cried endlessly on his back…
to being shouted at for moving too slow…
to washing piles of clothes until soap entered his eyes…
There was no rest.
No break.
No peace.
Every time he tried to sit…
“Stand up!”
Every time he closed his eyes…
“Do this!”
Every time he thought it was over…
something else started.
Even when he finally dragged his tired body to bed that night…
he realized something worse…
sleep was not guaranteed.
“This life has no off button,” he whispered.
But the day was not done with him.
His phone rang.
He answered weakly…
only to hear a loud voice shouting:
“WHERE ARE YOU?!”
It was his boss.
That was when it hit him.
“I HAVE A JOB?!”
Now he had to run — tired, confused, still in pain — to an office where no one cared what he had already gone through.
At work, he was shouted at again.
Given files.
Sent up and down.
Up and down.
His legs shaking.
His head spinning.
“I left house stress… came to office stress,” he said, almost crying.
By the time the day finally ended, he was no longer the same man.
That night…
something happened again.
He woke up.
And just like that…
he was back in his own body.
He jumped up in shock.
“I’m back!”
But this time…
he didn’t laugh.
He didn’t speak proudly.
He didn’t call anything “easy.”
Instead…
he called his wife outside.
“I have something to tell you,” he said quietly.
And what he said next…
changed everything.
Because after just ONE DAY…
he had seen what most people never understand.
And from that moment…
he made a promise.
A promise that every man needs to hear.
Because some lessons…
you don’t truly understand…
until you live them.
