Life Is for the Living: John 10:10
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.” — John 10:10
God’s intention for us has always been clear: that we live—not just exist—but live fully, purposefully, victoriously, and to His glory. Life in Christ is abundant life, expressed in every dimension of our being.
1. Expressing Potential and Manifesting Fullness of Vision
God placed seeds of greatness and purpose in every individual. Abundant life means allowing those seeds to grow, blossom, and bear fruit.
We are created in His image (Genesis 1:26–28), designed to function with creativity, innovation, dominion, and wisdom.
God expects us to develop our gifts (1 Timothy 4:14), use our talents (Matthew 25:14–30), and pursue the visions He has placed in our hearts (Habakkuk 2:2).
Manifesting fullness means living intentionally and refusing to bury what God has deposited in us.
Abundant life is life lived in purpose.
2. Living Victoriously: Overcoming Sin, Sickness, Poverty, and Death
The victory of Christ provides the foundation for a triumphant life.
Sin: Through Christ we are freed from the dominion of sin (Romans 6:14).
Sickness: By His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24).
Poverty: Christ became poor that we might be rich in God’s sufficiency (2 Corinthians 8:9; Philippians 4:19).
Death: He conquered death and gave us eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:54–57).
Living abundantly means refusing to be subdued by anything Christ already defeated.
Abundant life is victorious life.
3. Expressing the Power of God: Rescuing and Restoring a Dying World
Abundant life isn’t selfish; it flows outwards.
We are carriers of God’s power (Acts 1:8).
We are ambassadors of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18–20).
Through the Spirit, we bring light to darkness, hope to the hopeless, and restoration to a broken world (Romans 8:19–21).
Every believer is called to partner with God in rescuing people from destruction and restoring creation back to divine order.
Abundant life is life lived as God’s agent of transformation.
4. Living to Praise, Honour, and Glorify God Almighty
Ultimately, the abundant life is a worship-driven life.
We are created for His glory (Isaiah 43:7).
Our lives should be living sacrifices (Romans 12:1).
Everything we do—our work, relationships, service, and achievements—must glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31).
A life filled with gratitude, praise, obedience, and worship reflects the fullness of life God intended for us.
Abundant life is life lived for God’s glory.
