Reveving Up Creativity🚗🚛🚚: Join us as we take you behind the scenes of our upclyng journey at Trash 2 Toys Namibia! ♻️. Each car has consist about 50m of wires, they are about 16 cm in length, 10 cm in width, 20 cm in height. Most of the raw materials are waste materials collected from dumpsite, except the acrylic paint used for finish. This help give an anesthetic color. Some wires used to contract had different colors and some are have rust on it

Behind the scenes: Take a look at what happened behind the scenes ans we transform trash to toys. We made aeroplane toys from cans and bottle caps, some wires for the landing gear. To make each aircraft has about 3 empty cans. We used soda cans and hot glue to glue them together. We made biplanes, rear and wing mounted jet planes. Each plane has a Namibian plane painted on it's body, wings or at the rudder to represent our motherland Namibia🇳🇦, Sandly, Namibia's national airline ceased all it's operation, we wish to inspire those who admired it, who don't know to know it and give hope that it might come back.

All this toys are homemade, Trash 2 Toys is an upclyng business, we transform waste/unwanted materials such as cans, plastics and wires into toys, specifically aircrafts and cars. We're also developing other simple toys.

Up-cycling workshop:Recently held our first Up-cycling Workshop demo at in Otjomuise, targeting learners from Otjomuise Primary school aged between 10-14 years old. Surprisingly, majority that showed up are girls.

We explained to them what is Up-cycling abd how it differs from recycling ♻, the importance of Up-cycling to them and to the environment. We demonstrated to them how to make cars from wires and cans, gave them tasks to assemble the 🚙 that I designed, assemble the planes✈️that I designed and painted it. Demonstrated to them in how to make 🎎 from unwanted clothing, wisle from cans, hand swings from beer caps.

We asked the participants to design their own toys apart from what we had for them, surprisingly, they made cups, wine glasses, chairs and boats from the waste materials we asked them to bring such as cans, plastic bottles etc.

The workshop was a great success to us, from the evaluation we did out of 16 learners that showed up, 100 % understood what is Up-cycling, enjoyed the workshop especially working in groups, 76% said they were willing to teach others and they will continue making other toys. Painting was the activity that was enjoyed most, the most loved toy was the aeroplane. We are happy😊 to spread Up-cycling awareness and expand this activity to other learners around Windhoek, as well as those that are interested.

Debut truck completed😊 Finally the track had been completed, it is made of wires, and the tires are made of empty cans. Trash 2 Toys is creating awareness to solve littering through Upcycling.

What is Upcycling? This is when you take a waste materials, unwanted material or useless byproducts and transform them into a new material or product perceived to be of a greater quality or value that the original, basically giving a second chance to the material without changing the physical state of the material. This means that if you use a can, plastic bottle, we can see that that's a can, platic bottle cap, boxes etc.

We are doing this to save our planet, keep our environment clean and harness creativity.
