A few months ago we had no idea we were going to be opening our own chocolate and tea house. We thought we were starting a wholesale business selling our chocolate to the local health food stores. Then, one magical day, we stumbled across the most beautiful little cafe space in San Pancho. We were peeking in the windows wondering if it was available, when the owner walked up and offered to show us inside. It felt unreal, and completely perfect at the same time. We have been dreaming of opening our own tea house for 20 years, but we thought we had let that dream go a long time ago. Then suddenly here was the opportunity to bring it into reality. So, feeling completely unprepared and having no idea how we were going to pull this off, we said yes. We had less than 6 weeks from the time we said yes, to the time we opened. We had to make a lot of fast and loose decisions, decisions we would have liked to spend months contemplating, decisions like “what do we name this new magical place?”
We wanted a name that would fully embody our experience of unexpected discovery, serendipity, and good fortune. A name that represents our desire for everyone who wonders through this beautiful town and discovers our jungle corner of delectable delights, to feel their adventure has been met with good fortune.
