Do you remember ရှုမဝ (Shumawa), the much-loved women’s magazine treasured across Myanmar from the 1940s onwards?
Today, its beautiful vintage artwork is being brought back to life by our makers through tote bags, eco journals, and collectable postcards — carrying stories of the past into everyday life.

If you have one of our beautiful handbound journals, it was likely crafted by Ma Khin.

Today we celebrated her birthday and the incredible care she puts into every single journal she makes. Ma Khin works hard to make each one perfect — and many customers tell us that once they’ve used one, they never want to use another notebook again.

Some people return year after year, building their own colourful library of filled journals filled with memories, ideas, and stories

Through her craftsmanship, Ma Khin is also supporting her young son through school and helping build a future for him.

Wishing her a very happy birthday today!

Journs available online in UK, Day, # She Creates.

A symbol of remembrance, made with care and meaning

Last Saturday, 25th April, marked ANZAC Day — a time to remember and honour those who have served in wars.

The New Zealand Embassy asked us to create poppies for this special day of remembrance. Working with our makers in Monywa, we created each piece with a small touch of Myanmar in the fabric—bringing together stories and cultures.

A symbol of remembrance, made with care and meaning.

My journey to work.
Across dusty roads, over the Yangon River by ferry, and onwards together by taxi—this is the daily journey for many of our makers from Dala and beyond.

As transport costs rise and safety continues to be a challenge, every day that everyone arrives safely and ready to work is a win.
