Art Gallery Stay – Art Way Gallery
Art Gallery Stay is a unique artist accommodation and creative residency experience that has been actively operated by Art Way Gallery, offering artists and art enthusiasts an inspiring environment in which to live, create, learn, and exhibit.
Designed for painters, printmakers, researchers, art students, and individuals passionate about the visual arts, Art Gallery Stay provides access to professional studio facilities and gallery spaces where participants can develop their artistic practice while engaging with a vibrant creative community.
One of the distinctive features of this program is its connection to the extensive international experience of contemporary Sri Lankan artists Sudath Abeysekara and Achala Gunawardena. Through exhibitions, artist residencies, workshops, art fairs, and international conferences, they have represented Sri Lanka and engaged with artistic communities in countries including China, South Korea, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and the United Kingdom. Their professional knowledge, creative insights, and global perspectives enrich the experience offered through Art Gallery Stay.
Residents have the opportunity to work within a stimulating artistic environment, receive guidance and mentorship, participate in creative discussions, and gain valuable exposure to contemporary artistic practices and international cultural exchange. Depending on the nature of their projects, artists may also have the opportunity to present and exhibit their work within the gallery space.
Located in Thalawathugoda, near Sri Lanka’s capital city and in close proximity to the Parliament of Sri Lanka, Art Way Gallery serves as a dynamic cultural space where artistic practice, research, education, and creative dialogue converge.
