Three months ago, I began volunteering at a local public primary school. I didnāt expect how deeply it would touch me.
Thereās a quiet joy in being part of these childrenās worldātheir excitement to learn, their resilience despite having limited resources. Itās something you canāt quite explain; you just have to experience it.
Iāve gained an immense respect for teachers. Their devotion runs deep. They show up every day, give endlessly, and stretch far beyond whatās expected.
What moves me even more is how the children care for each other.
This morning I asked a little girl to tie her shoelace so she wouldnāt trip. Without hesitation, one of her classmates came over and said, āKuja, nitakusaidia. Mimi ninajua kufunga shoelaces. Nitakuonyesha.ā
Thatās love. Thatās service. Pure unfiltered kindness ā being your brotherās and sisterās keeper. š
