We are very happy to share this special Flame Makeup Brush with you.

The shape of this brush is inspired by traditional East Asian wolf-hair calligraphy brushes. In the past, brushes with this elegant and pointed tip were used for writing, painting, and expressing delicate yet powerful lines. To people in ancient times, a brush was not only a tool, but also a medium that connected the hand, the heart, and the artwork.

We have always wanted to bring this classical brush shape into the world of makeup. To us, makeup can also be a form of painting. Just as ancient calligraphers and painters used brush and ink on paper, we hope this brush can treat the face as a canvas, gently drawing color, light, and expression onto the skin.

This brush is made with precious vintage weasel hair. The bristles have beautiful resilience, smooth control, and excellent precision. The pointed flame-shaped tip is especially useful for detailed application, soft blending, small-area highlighting, and precise powder placement. Yellow weasel hair also has very good powder pickup, helping color apply more clearly, cleanly, and exactly where you want it.

Handmade in Kumano, Japan, this brush is not only very practical, but also carries a quiet and profound sense of history. For those who love traditional craftsmanship, natural hair brushes, or the feeling of applying makeup as if painting, we think this is a very meaningful and collectible piece.

hello！Friends, a new brush is coming soon. Before the launch, I wanted to share a few personal thoughts and experiences with you.

I’ve always deeply loved the Hakuhodo G512. It’s airy, delicate, and beautiful for soft highlighting or a sheer veil of color. But in my own routine, I kept running into moments where its fluffiness felt a bit too diffused—especially when I wanted a cleaner, more structured blush placement that truly follows the facial bones.
That is why I wanted to create this Kolinsky Angled Blush Brush.
It’s not meant to replace the G512. Rather, it’s a completely different direction. I wanted a brush that retains the flexible, face-hugging movement of an angled shape, but with more density, support, and stability.
By choosing premium Kolinsky hair, the brush offers a distinct resilience. It doesn’t just melt away against the skin; it gives you clear, tactile feedback. It allows you to place the pigment exactly where you intend, and then slowly push and blend the edges out.
What makes it incredibly versatile is that this brush excels with both cream and liquid products, not just powders. The natural resilience of Kolinsky hair effortlessly handles richer textures without clumping, blending them into the skin for a seamless, second-skin finish.

This one has been a long time coming.

Last year, many of you asked for a mid-sized five-sided brush —
and I thought… if we’re going to do it, it has to be done properly.

The hardest part wasn’t the design.

It was convincing Yoshiki to let go of his private stash of kolinsky 😅

When I finally got it in hand, I noticed something immediately:

It doesn’t feel like most modern kolinsky.

There’s that slight grip…
that controlled release.

Not overly airy. Not aggressively grabby.
Just… balanced.

I compared it with a few older brushes —
from vintage pieces to more recent batches.

And this one sits somewhere different.

Not dramatic.
But in use… it quietly outperforms.

With the five-sided shape,
you get more stability, more control,
and thinner, smoother layers.

Nothing feels exaggerated —
but everything feels right.

Kolinsky like this doesn’t come around very often.

We will add a new member to our Owl family 🦉
The handle is finally here — so here’s a first look.

And while we had it in hand, we decided to test this brush.

With summer coming, lighter base makeup just feels better…
so we compared sponge vs brush using the same powder.

The sponge presses product into the skin —
great coverage, but it can feel heavy.

This brush does something different.
It doesn’t build thickness.
It smooths, softens… and blends into the skin — letting your natural glow come through.

✨ Highlight

One brush, a completely different finish.

We’re planning to release it in July,
along with the return of the Big Owl and Baby Owl brushes.

Hello，Friends！ I’ve been testing a new face brush lately, and honestly… it feels like something in between everything we’ve made before.

It’s a grey squirrel × weasel blend — and the idea was very simple:

You know how grey squirrel is beautifully soft, but sometimes just…
doesn’t pick up enough powder?
Or struggles a bit when you want more structure?

So we added a touch of weasel hair to gently fix that.

What I’m noticing so far:
• still that soft, airy squirrel feeling on skin
• but now with a bit more bounce and control
• and noticeably better powder pickup + blending

It’s not aggressive at all — just… more capable.

The angled shape makes it really easy to follow the face:
I’ve been using it for highlight, soft contour, even light bronzer days.

Especially if you like that diffused, sculpted but not obvious finish — this one feels very natural.

Right now I’m thinking… maybe it could become part of the Nebulae series ☁️
but I’d really love to hear your thoughts first.

I’ve made a simple demo showing how I use it to apply liquid foundation, concealer, cream contour, and cream blush. Of course, it also works beautifully with powders—if a product is too pigmented or hard to control, you can use this brush to soften and diffuse the color.

The WCS × saikoho eye brush demo is finally done…
I’ve been a bit off lately—🫣
got into basketball again,🏀😅
sweating every day like I’m back in college.😅

haven’t really had the patience to sit down and do a full makeup look.

So I kept things simple today.

Just a soft, neutral look with my Natasha Denona palette—
nothing complicated, just something easy to reach for.

But this brush…
it made me slow down for a second.

The way it picks up just enough,
and blends without that “overworked” look—
everything just falls into place.

No extra effort,
no second guessing.

I know quite a few of you have already received yours—
I’d really love to hear what you think.

It’s one of those tools you don’t think about too much…
until you realize you’ve been reaching for it every time.
