⚔️ From my personal collection

This is an authentic Nihonto forged by Sesshū-jū Fujiwara Nagatsuna, a renowned swordsmith who worked in Settsu Province (modern day Osaka) during the mid Edo.

Nagatsuna is celebrated not only for his craftsmanship but also for his extraordinary character. Though deaf, he never concealed his disability and boldly engraved the character “聾” (stunbo/deaf) into his signature a powerful reflection of his pride, confidence, and unwavering spirit.

He is also famous for his tameshi-mei (cutting test inscriptions), making him one of the most recognizable figures in Japanese sword history.

Surviving works by Nagatsuna are exceptionally scarce. They rarely appear at auctions or reputable dealers, making this blade a highly prized addition to any serious collection.

A true piece of Japanese history.

今日は当店私物の刀剣をご紹介いたします⚔️

摂州住藤原長綱（せっしゅうじゅう ふじわら ながつな）は、江戸時代中期の摂津国（現在の大阪府）で活躍した刀工です。自らの耳が聴こえない不具を隠さず、あえて「聾」の文字を堂々と銘に切ったことで知られ、強靭な精神力と自信が窺えます。

彼は自らの銘に「聾（つんぼ）」と刻んだり、切り捨て御免の記録（裁断銘）を残していたりすることで、日本刀の歴史において非常に有名な人物です！
残された作品は非常に希少で、オークションや専門店で見かける機会は滅多になく重宝しております一振りでございます✨
