Hello Friends, I would like to inform you about OLX scam that took place recently, my brother tried to buy a cell phone so he responded to an advertisement on OLX.
So he spoke with person related to the advertisement. The person said he is army man and he wanted to sell it ASAP as his family is in need of money.
So my brother asked him to ship the phone before he could transfer the money.
So the person generated fake id , fake receipt from overnight international courier service.He also got call from courier service saying they have phone which will be delivered soon. Seeing the receipt my brother transferred the 20,000 and we realized it was fraud as the phone was never received and they stopped picking the phone.
After calling OLX we found few other people had fallen prey to somewhat similar scam.
It’s a gang of 3 people and they have kept calling my brother from these numbers 9813216729 , 8529102784 7340101840 . Just attaching picture for reference as these were photos of them on OLX account and the Fake ID they send.
