complete starter kit and development system for the 8-bit and 32-bit AVR microcontrollers that gives designers a quick start to develop code on the AVR, with advanced features for prototyping and testing new designs.
The AVR device connects to the STK600 using an innovative routing and socketcard sandwich system, which routes the signals from the device to the appropriate hardware.
Note that a routing card and socket card for the specific device would need to be purchase separately.
The system consists of a generic socketcard, on which the AVR device is inserted, and a device specific signal routing card, which routes the signals from the socket pins to the different functions on the STK600 main board dependant on the device. This design simplifies hardware setup when switching from one AVR device to another, since all connections from the device to the motherboard are determined by the routing card, a custom board for each device. The routing system is purely passive; no electronic components route the signals, so all I/O pins are directly accessible on the connectors with no altering of the electrical behavior.
The kit offers access to all device pins, and several useful hardware functions such as pushbuttons, LEDs, and dataflash to create a complete system for prototyping and testing new designs. Free AVR Studio or AVR32 Studio lets designers write and compile firmware in either assembly or C language, and download the code to the target AVR device.
The board also has adjustable voltage supply and adjustable clock to the target AVR device. The VCC level and clock frequency can be adjusted on the fly from AVR Studio or AVR32 Studio, giving designers the ability to test the performance at different voltage levels and clock frequencies with just the click of a button.

The chip, known as (TRRAM) or transparent resistive random access memory, is similar to existing chips known as (CMOS) or metal-oxide semiconductor memory, which we use in new electronics.

The difference is that TRRAM is completely clear and transparent. What is the benefit of having transparency?

A new version of the Arduino IDE (1.6.12) supporting OSX Sierra is available for download! All OSX users updating to Sierra are invited to also update the IDE to avoid crashes when uploading sketches.

This update includes an experimental integration with Arduino Cloud API already used by Arduino Create. The Arduino Cloud is simple tool to connect your Arduinos to the Internet and to each other. From now on, when you insert for the first time an Arduino/Genuino or AtHeart board which needs an additional core, you will be prompted to automagically install its bundled software.

You’ll notice that the example menu has been reorganized, making it much more consistent and easier to navigate.

We’ve released version 1.0.7 of Curie core as well, which is a transitional release guiding us towards 2.0.0 with BLE central role and a lot of other goodies.

A learning and development board that delivers the performance and low-power consumption of the Intel® Curie™ Module with the simplicity of Arduino at an entry-level price.
It keeps the same robust form factor and peripheral list of the UNO with the addition of onboard Bluetooth LE capabilities and a 6-axis accelerometer/gyro to help you easily expand your creativity into the connected world.

The module contains two tiny cores, an x86 (Quark) and a 32-bit ARC architecture core, both clocked at 32MHz. The Intel toolchain compiles your Arduino sketches optimally across both cores to accomplish the most demanding tasks.
The Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and framework developed by Intel is open sourced. See below under Firmware for the download link. The Arduino core communicates with the RTOS via static mailboxes to accomplish a predefined list of tasks (interface with PC using USB, program the sketch into flash, expose Bluetooth LE functionality to sketch, perform PWM). The RTOS for Intel Curie is still under development and new functions and features will be released in the near future.

The 101 comes with 14 digital input/output pins (of which 4 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a USB connector for serial communication and sketch upload, a power jack, an ICSP header with SPI signals and I2C dedicated pins.

The Intel Galileo as one of the boards is a development board that is found on Quark processors which is made specifically for small size devices and those that consume low power. This line was first used at Intel Development forum in 2013. They are small in size and slow in relation to speed as compared to Atom Processors. The Intel Galileo Development Board also consumes less power. In recent times, it is seen as one among other very best development boards for all electronics hobbyists.

Now days Intel Galileo is just designed for some devices that are interactive, very simple and very complex projects. A good example is the humanoid robots. The Intel Galileo Development board is as swift as it allows communication with Arduino, microcontrollers and other PCs.
