Bharat Atman Studios Announces Upcoming Comic on Shyamji Krishna Verma – The First Issue of “Unsung Heroes of India” Series
New Delhi, October 4, 2025:
On the 168th birth anniversary of Shyamji Krishna Verma (1857–1930), Bharat Atman Studios, a revolutionary publishing house dedicated to reviving India’s forgotten legacies, proudly announces its upcoming comic book on one of the greatest champions of Indian freedom on foreign soil. This will be the first issue in the ambitious new series titled “Unsung Heroes of India”, dedicated to immortalizing the lives of India’s forgotten patriots, as highlighted during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava celebrations.
Honoring the Guardian of Revolutionaries Abroad
Shyamji Krishna Verma was not only a brilliant lawyer, orator, and scholar of Sanskrit, but also a visionary nationalist who provided intellectual and strategic strength to the Indian freedom struggle. In 1905, he established the historic India House in London, which became a hub and sanctuary for young revolutionaries such as Veer Savarkar, Madan Lal Dhingra, and Hardayal.
Through his fiery journal The Indian Sociologist, Verma fearlessly questioned British colonial rule and ignited revolutionary thought across continents. Despite his exile, he remained steadfast in his dedication to India’s independence, earning the title of being the greatest guardian of Indian revolutionaries abroad.
PM Modi’s Role in Preserving Legacy
The legacy of Shyamji Krishna Verma found renewed national pride through the efforts of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. In 2003, during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Modi arranged for the repatriation of Shyamji Krishna Verma’s ashes from Geneva’s George Cemetery to India.
Further, a replica of the historic India House was built at his birthplace, Mandvi in Kutch, now known as Kranti Teerth — a monumental tribute to his contributions and a living inspiration for future generations.
The upcoming comic captures these historic milestones, ensuring that Shyamji Krishna Verma’s sacrifice and vision reach the hearts of young readers across India.
About the Series – Unsung Heroes of India
The Shyamji Krishna Verma comic marks the beginning of a multi-part series that will highlight the lives of several freedom fighters and cultural icons whose stories remain underrepresented in mainstream history. This initiative is in line with the Government of India’s vision during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava to bring forward the sacrifices of unsung heroes of the independence movement.
Author – Vishnu Sharma
The comic is authored by Vishnu Sharma, an acclaimed writer, lyricist, journalist, and film critic with more than 25 years of experience in Indian media. Sharma is the author of celebrated works such as Congress President Files, Indira Files, Itihas Ke 50 Viral Sach, and Gumnam Nayakon Ki Gauravshali Gathayen.
He has also written two patriotic songs for Zee Music — one on the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha and another on 75 years of the Constitution, both composed by music maestro Anu Malik. A respected voice in Indian media, he has served as a jury member at prominent film festivals including IFFI, Goa, IGNCA’s Vibhajan Vibhishika Divas Film Fest, and the Chitra Sadhan Film Fest.
Currently, Vishnu Sharma is writing a 100-article series on 100 years of RSS for Aaj Tak, further establishing his role as a chronicler of India’s historical and cultural milestones.
