Surrounded by open drains, guarded by a perpetual flurry of flies, in the dusty and narrow lanes of Adarsh Nagar stands an iron door. It is a door which when flung open, leads to The Magic Room, a place where everything is possible. Working with the kids in their community we realized that the struggles of a child from a low income community are quite different from the ones we have faced. Since,
they live in one room homes, they don't have a space to call their own, a place where they can study, read, play or do just about anything. From here came the idea of 'The Magic Room'. It is a room, where kids can come and do what they want to do; there is a reading corner with lots of books, place for them to sit and do their homework, some board games and computers. It is also a place for us to take extra classes to push every child to reach their potential. It is a room of possibility, safety, experimentation, learning and so, "Magic!".. Anything is possible here, you just need to believe in it. After a lot of struggle with finding a place in the community , we opened the doors to our kids on 16th Sept 2014, and it was a truly 'Magical' moment. However to keep the magic alive, we need your support. Here, is detailed account of the finances that we would need to keep the place running. Monthly Expenses-
