We're feeling very nostalgic here at Peter Murphy Lighting & Electrical. Today marks 40 years in business in the Westside Shopping Centre. Check out our first ad from November 1985 - and all the other local businesses wishing us well! Our shop front has changed a lot since the expansion, but as you can see we were always mad for a sale! We couldn’t let the occasion pass without celebrating this great duo, Peter and Mary, who 40 years ago today took a big chance in opening the business. Our first van that we got in 1991 was a huge milestone for us (considering we were using a car and trailer for deliveries up to then). But, one of the most prized possessions for us is the $10 note, sent all the way from Pennsylvania U.S.A. by Peter's brother Pat Murphy. It arrived on opening day to wish us luck in our new venture, and is still bringing us luck to this day! To all our customers over the past 40 years thank you for shopping with us and being part of our history. We wouldn’t be able to do it without our amazing staff. And to all the local businesses that we've worked alongside; it's been an absolute pleasure.
