Well folks, we read all your comments on the Shankill Forum & felt the enthusiasm from you so it's decided- There will be a Christmas in the Village 2022 and the date is set for Sunday December 4th! We've already had a couple of meetings and as some longstanding members of the Committee have understandably stepped down after many years of service to CITV. This event wont happen on it's own so if anyone would like to help out we would be very grateful, especially with fundraising! DLRCoCo have given us a grant which covers the putting up and taking down of our fabulous Christmas lights which will be on both sides of the street through the village this year. On the day we will of course have Santa arriving (more about tickets later) with an array of street entertainers, dancers, live band, choir and funfair not to mention the popular Christmas stalls with lots of festive goodies. The event costs over โฌ10k so we will be relying on local traders to support us with sponsorship in return for some high profile advertisment of their business, club or enterprise. Also we appeal to our village community to help in any way they can with coffee mornings, cake sales, sponsored walks, swims, shaves etc. We have a date set for a fundraiser in Bradys of Shankill on Thursday 15th September but more later about that! Let's all pull together and get the party started to ensure a really great day for young and old- we have all suffered this past few years so we deserve a good day out to kickstart the Festive Season! Offers of help welcome on this page and we'll get back to you. Thanks for taking the time to read this guys.
