Super super impressed with the dress completed by
Kevina only started sewing a few months ago and has taken to it so well. I think she'd agree it's become a bit of an addiction, certainly from the shopping side of it anyway!!!!
So impressed with the work she put into this dress. It's not easy when it's only your second project. I hope she wears it with pride this summer.

How cute is this cushion. Custom made by Jane for a bench she had. She drafted the pattern and learnt how to attach piping, and how to sew a zip. Lots of learning in this one and a great result.

this week goes to for her fabulous self drafted tee shirt. To some it might just be a tee shirt but to us sewers it is a work of art. Margaret now has exactly what she wants in a top, made literally just for her. I'm super impressed with her patience and determination to get what she wanted.

Little shout out to the fabulous and her fab zippy pouch. Isn't it fab. Two for the price of one.
Love this pattern, it's a little tricky to get your head around at the beginning but it makes a gorgeous pouch. Can't wait to make one for myself.
Love the idea all my sewers bring to class and love helping them achieve it.

Children's aprons. Anna has done a fantastic job on custom made apron for her children. She wants them to be self sufficient when using them too. So these have been made with button closures so they can learn to do this themselves. They will wrap around to the front so they can button in front of them.
Well done Anna and great idea.
Just shows that when you make it yourself you can have exactly what you want.

Spotlight today is on my youngest sewer. At just 14 she's just finished her first bag with me. A small lunch bag. She should be so proud of herself, Maya you have done so well and a natural at this sewing malarkey!!!!

Key elements Maya has learning doing this bag
- how to line a bag and 'bag it out'
- how to top stitch
- how to box out the corners
- how to applique shapes onto fabric
- how to do button holes

All that on one bag, without even mentioning how to master a sewing machine and a straight line! So much can be learned from the first project and propel you into the works of sewing.

It's not always about making from scratch. Sometimes you find a lovely item but it just needs to be altered to be more what you are looking for. Huge well done to for the fab alteration she did in class. Love seeing the ideas and helping you achieve them.
