Fields of the Forgotten 🌿🌓
One of my favorite paintings to date ❤️
This piece was created over two years, layer by layer, colour over colour… evolving slowly, like a landscape shaped by time: through erosion, decay, shifting lines, and growth 🌻
I kept returning, adding new marks, scraping back old ones, following paths that only revealed themselves with time and distance.
It’s part of my exploration of how we find our sense of place in the world through landscape. Hills hold stories, rivers trace histories, and the ground beneath us is never as still as it seems. Every place carries what came before: people, weather, footsteps, love, loss, memories. The land remembers even when we forget.
This painting is my way of mapping that feeling. A landscape both real and imagined, layered and lived in. A place that is always changing and impossible to pin down or hold, yet deeply felt💭
