Morning everyone, today is the last day that you catch our Limerick Ceramic Artists Exhibition Shaping Time 2 in Draíocht Art Gallery Adare. Jean Ryan Ceramics

Jean did a 3 year foundation course in arts and crafts in North Strand Dublin. She concentrated in ceramics for the 3rd year and worked with Suzanne May Pottery in The Tower in Dublin. She works at Ballymorris Pottery for the last 23 years and has studio space there also. Constantly experimenting and exploring with clay and colour, she loves inviting nature into her work and everything whimsical to create her pieces.

Please welcome another one of our long standing members of our Limerick Ceramic Artists 🤗, who has been part of both of exhibitions this year so far.

Ciara Nash

In 2011 she completed an Honours Degree in Ceramic Design in Limerick School of Art and Design. It is very much process based, an element which I enjoy immensely. The clays I use are stoneware and porcelain which are finished using high fired glazes in an electric kiln. While I love making functional ware, modern concepts of form and design are major considerations throughout my work and lately I have begun handbuilding in porcelain which has given me a new form of expression.

You can still see Ciaras work in our present exhibition Shaping Time 2 at Draíocht Art Gallery Adare

Noreen Ramsay

Noreen is an Irish visual artist who graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2001. She works from her studio in Co. Clare. She works with porcelain,
the work is intimate and quiet. It is designed to encourage people to pause and connect.

In an increasingly demanding and frenetic world, Noreen’s subtle, serene work offers a focus for quiet contemplation.
Her latest work depicts a trip to Australia she had taken recently.

Hi all, we have a few days left to head over to Draíocht Art Gallery Adare to catch our Shaping Time 2 exhibition 🥰. And someone else you can see work from is :

Oakhouse Ceramics - Mountshannon

Eibhlín Dunne graduated with a degree in Ceramic Design from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2005. Following her studies, she travelled extensively before embarking on a career in primary school teaching. In recent years, she has returned to her passion for ceramics, developing a body of work inspired by local wildlife and the natural world around her.
Her practice is strongly influenced by her love of birds, a recurring theme throughout her work. Eibhlín works extensively with raku firing and continues to explore alternative firing techniques, embracing the unpredictable and organic qualities they bring to her ceramics. Alongside her studio practice, she is a tutor with the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, where she works closely with local community groups, sharing her skills and enthusiasm for ceramics with others.

Patricia Keane

Having graduated from LSAD, I established my studio to produce hand built pieces. I use the medium of clay to express my thoughts on life and objects around me, treating it as a journal to record what is happening. Also, a fundamental interest in old objects, the effects created by the slow erosion of time, the history of found artefacts and the untold stories that they hoard, inspire and intrigue me. Much of my work includes other media and is usually non-functional.

Patricia has been part of our Limerick Ceramic Artists group from the very beginning 🥰. Also has had work in our first exhibition Shaping Time in Limerick School of Art & Design TUS and presently in Draíocht Art Gallery Adare Shaping Time 2, running until May 28th 🥳

Creative Clay aka Raquel Walton

Raquel Walton is a ceramicist working from her home studio in rural Co. Clare. Her handbuilt work is shaped by the Irish landscape, the Burren, the hedgerows, the lichen and weathered stone. This new body of work marks a shift toward the rougher, quieter textures of the natural world, and an exploration of surface texture and lava glazes.
Raquel has also been part of both our Limerick Ceramic Artists exhibitions this year, celebrating 15 years with 15 ceramic artists. Shaping Time 2 still running in Draíocht Art Gallery Adare until May 28th 🥳.

Hannah Arnup

Hannah studied Fine Art Sculpture at Kingston School of Art and Post Graduate Ceramics at Goldsmiths College, London in the 80’s. After travelling, Hannah moved to Co. Clare in Ireland, where she established Ballymorris Pottery. This working pottery produces a wide variety of work as well as providing classes.

Hannah is showing here a collection of one-off tripod ceramics. She has long been fascinated by the balance, beauty and intricate detail of early Chinese ritual bronze vessels and it was the study of these that first led her to work with clay.
She continues to explore the physicality of the tripods, presently using bold bands of colour to intercept the elegant symmetry, creating unique pieces which reflect her enduring fascination with antiquity.

Hannah also was part of our Shaping Time exhibition in Limerick School of Art & Design TUS in April and also in our Limerick Ceramic Artists exhibition Shaping Time 2 in Draíocht Art Gallery Adare until May 28th 🥰
