FACT OR FICTION?

Free workshops for community groups in Clare on misinformation, disinformation and fact-checking

Thursday 20th February ~ 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Friday 21st February ~ 10:30am - 12:30pm

What are misinformation and disinformation, why are they on the rise in Ireland and around the world and what can we do to challenge them? The aim of this workshop is to give you – and your community group – an introduction to how to spot false information online and in your networks, how to respond to it and how to help prevent division in our communities.

This training will give an overview of the kinds of disinformation being spread in Ireland, what kind of groups are spreading it and why, and how this false information often ends up shaping mainstream debate. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.

We are running the same workshop on two days:

Thursday 20th February ~ 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Friday 21st February ~ 10:30am - 12:30pm

We are delighted to announce that we are hosting a number of FREE LGBTQIA+ Awareness Workshops across the county of Clare in December.

All are welcome to join us, but teachers, community / youth workers, parents or anyone engaging with young people in a paid or voluntary capacity may have a particular interest in understanding more about LGBTQIA+ issues and rights.

Ennistymon: Monday December 2nd, 6.45pm-9pm
West Clare FRC: Tuesday December 3rd, 6.45pm-9pm
Shannon: Tuesday December 10th, 6.45pm-9pm
Scarriff: Thursday December 12th, 5.45pm-8pm
