U14 ANNASCAUL / CASTLEGREGORY GIRLS BACK ON THE ROAD.
After an impressive victory over Chorcha Dhuibhne two weeks ago, the U14 A/C girls hit the road again on Sunday, making the long trip to Kenmare to take on ISG. It proved to be another excellent test for the squad and a fantastic game of football for all involved.
Despite missing a small number of players, the girls showed tremendous character and determination. A special mention must go to the younger players who stepped up to the challenge without hesitation. They played with confidence, courage, and maturity beyond their years, which is hugely encouraging for the future of the club.
From the first whistle, the game was played at a blistering pace. Both teams committed fully to an attacking style of football, creating an entertaining and highly competitive contest. The skill, work rate, and sportsmanship on display from both sides were a credit to the players. It was a high-tempo encounter packed with great passages of play, excellent teamwork, and plenty of determination.
A/C settled into the game well and managed to maintain a slight advantage throughout. While ISG continually asked questions and never gave up, A/C responded every time with composure and resilience. The girls showed great discipline and teamwork to stay in front and ultimately secure a well-deserved victory with a final scoreline of 6-16 to 5-10
A massive thank you must also go to the parents and families who made the long journey on a busy Bank Holiday weekend. The support from the sidelines was, as always, outstanding. The commitment shown by parents week after week is a vital part of the club's success. Their encouragement, dedication, and willingness to travel wherever the team plays does not go unnoticed. Quite simply, their support is worth three points on its own.
Well done to all the players on another excellent performance.
