Such a pleasant surprise today when Joe Philpott (of Rubyhorse fame) walked in to The Grey Heron to deliver his memoir ‘All Roads Lead to Where You Are: From Bishopstown to The Beatles’ ) .
I was and still am a huge fan of Rubyhorse (‘Goodbye To All That’ being one of my favourite and most played albums in my 20s) so it was just class to stand and chat with Joe. He even signed all of the copies!
The book chronicles his life in music, from his beginnings in Bishopstown to touring America, working with George Harrison, and his eventual return home. It explores the highs and lows of a music career, the themes of risk, reinvention, and finding one’s way back to what matters most. Looking forward to reading it and one sold already which is great!
Thanks for swinging by Joe. 🙏
* Random fact; Joe spent a couple of years in Hamilton High School Bandon in the late 80s while his Dad Eric Philpott taught there 😀
