🛸 F2 Hijaz 17 (432 Hz)
⏳ 13 days after gluing
🔨 Ember steel 1.0mm

This beauty went through 3 fine-tuning sessions so far. The higher frequencies haven’t fully opened up yet, but I’d love to share a short in-progress snippet :))

I might have to build one for myself too, because it is so meditative and the Hijaz scale has always been a personal favourite 🧘‍♂️🐫

Finally, I can see some improvements in shaping. This time I forced myself to be extra patient, and I think it was worth it. This took me 3 days instead of 1-2 ⏳🔨

F2 Hijaz 17 on the horizon! 🔥

I’m stuck in a neverending loop of tuning this F2 Hijaz 🥶😵‍💫 It is indeed a very difficult process, but finally I can share some insights how it sounds :))

I didn’t post for a while because I’m focusing on building two beautiful handpans:
Nr.7 👉 C Hijaz 10
Nr.8 👉 F2 Hijaz 17

The F2 Hijaz requires a lot of patience and further understanding of the physics of the handpan notes and layout and I kinda love getting lost in this neverending rabbit hole. I’m glad that both will be tuned to 432 Hz. There’s so much depth in it compared to 440 Hz 🌀🧘‍♂️

Nr.7 will be finished soon, until that you can enjoy this impro session on the latest D Kurd 10 👇

Another important workshop update! 🫣
From now on, you can hear the sound quality of Ambeh handpans much closer to how they sound in real life. I still can’t capture the full resonance you experience when playing one yourself, but it’s decent enough to give you a real sense of the Ambeh sound. 🎶

Did you know I was a software developer before I started making handpans? I spent so much time in Zoom meetings back then… 🥵 Fortunately, it’s a completely different kind of Zoom.
