Sat down to make some samples for Friday’s Found Object Jewellery Workshop and got completely carried away with this piece. 😅

I’m absolutely obsessed with brooches just now. They’re proper pieces of wearable art, no interference from a chain or an earring hook, just the artwork doing its thing.

I had this wee piece of green left over from my workshop with Aubin Jewellery and knew it was destined for something special. It just needed all the other bits to find their way to it. A shell from yesterday’s beach comb, a Plasticine lid, a scrap of leftover felt, and some Swarovski crystals left over from a wedding dress I made years and years ago all came together perfectly.

And the pink and green? Obsessed-ulated, obviously. 💚🩷 (Wicked fans will know… pink goes good with green 😉)

Why do I keep making things I want to keep?! 😂

Also, my bees have been busy in the background amongst these beautiful grandma’s bonnets. 🐝🌸

Last night I was feeling a bit tearful. Not unusual for me, but talking about it openly definitely is! 😂 This year has changed me in a lot of ways.

I think six days straight of working had finally caught up with me, as well as the complete fear of being open and bringing you all in on my new venture and the countdown to that! So I was really looking forward to a proper no-brain day today. Hubster and I headed off to our favourite place, South Queensferry, for a bit of beachcombing and charity shop hunting combined with a spot of lunch.

Technically, any beach treasures I find will end up being used for work… but when I’m rummaging through shelves and wandering along the shore, it doesn’t feel like work at all.

Today’s best finds were some bits of pink, some blues and a bit of tyre, and off the shelves these two brilliant books. For my kids? Absolutely not. For me! 😂 Though I am looking forward to sharing them, especially the one about Scottish women, with my daughter.

I’m pretty sure she’s going to go far in life like these amazing women… either running the world or running a gang. The jury’s still out. 🤣❤️

A beautiful sunny day in Greenock today, so an outdoor activity was definitely required! ☀️🌿

We went on a little nature hunt for flowers that were beginning to turn, gathered some leaves, grabbed our hammers, and created some awesome botanical prints using the Japanese Hapa Zome technique 🌸🍃🔨

Such a simple, mindful way to connect with nature and get creative using the colours and textures all around us.

Give it a go, you only need:

* Flowers & leaves
* Fabric or paper
* A hammer or mallet
* A little curiosity ✨

Every print comes out completely unique!

Afternoon in the garden 🌿☀️

Spent the day planting and pottering about, and honestly gardening is such a calming joy to me. I really think it helps my ADHD too, watching the little changes every day and just the whole peaceful “pottering” aspect of it all.

Penny and Arthur helped get a new reclaimed cabinet planter ready for some veggies, and we planted out some seedlings that were finally ready to go, along with marigolds and nasturtiums in the desperate hope of deterring the pesky slugs 🐌😂

I rescued an acer from the reduced aisle in Morrisons, soaked up the sunshine with the kids, while Maggie and Baxter were never far behind 🐾

Hubby cooked up a storm of chicken wings and fries for dinner, and now we’re just waiting for the kids to settle into bed so I can curl up with a TV show, and a Hugo Spritz mocktail 🍹✨

Here’s to more sunny days like this 💛

My groove came back at 7.30 tonight… typical ADHD 😅

It’s been a slow week creatively for me personally. I’ve been slowly working away at bits and pieces, but tonight everything finally just clicked into place.

I’ve felt really drained this week, and in a neurodiverse house more often than not, if one of us goes down, we all go down. Between the emotions of Penny’s school visit, my bestie’s exhibition opening, that time of the month, a bank holiday that somehow included the dentist 😩, squabbles, and us all feeding off each other’s stress… it’s been a funny old week.

But tonight, creatively, I was in bliss. Proper stress-free, in-the-zone bliss ✨

Even with the nighttime “I’m not sleepy” visits from the kids, I showed Arthur what I’d been working on and the ring ready for the polisher, and he just looked at me and said:

“it’s beautiful mummy” 🥹

Ahhh… honestly, isn’t that just worth everything? ☺️

Anyway, funny week, busy weekend ahead with a market tomorrow and workshops on Sunday, but I’m hopeful for some family time on Monday ☀️

A few of my favourite finds from the past few weeks ✨

Pottery shards, rocks, toys, weird things, cool things, and all sorts of curious treasures that caught my eye along the way.

Some of these pieces will become part of future artworks, transformed into something entirely new. Others are simply too interesting to let go of and will stay in my ever-growing collection.

And yes… I definitely needed more rocks 🪨😂 But honestly, who doesn’t love a good rock?
