Attic Antiques

Attic Antiques Looking to rehome your family treasures? Attic Antiques have been helping Aberdeenshire families for over two decades.

Attic Antiques was founded in 2006 by Robert Cook after an initial career in museums and the heritage sector. Unlike most antiques dealers we don't have a shop but instead trade mostly online and at fairs. Because we don't have premises, we don't have high overheads and so we can give you the best prices for your antiques and collectables. We offer a friendly, personal service which includes home visits and valuations.

What happens to our ancestors medals if we've no one to pass them down to? Should we sell them? This is an emotional question but the very value in medals is their history and it's what collectors cherish.

This trio belongs to Able Seaman Charles Stephen of the Royal Naval Reserve. Stephen was born at 81 Menzies Road, Torry, Aberdeen in 1898.

When war broke out he signed up and travelled with a merchant vessel to the Gallopoli Campaign but tragically, while his ship supported an amphibious landing there, he was killed. That was August 20th 1915 - he was only 17.

Now, over a century later, Charles's medals had no home and may have been forgotten. Instead, a collector will take them on, research the man and his memory will be their value for generations to come.

This weekend we've been having fun with a selection of 1940s magic tricks! Made by E&S of England, they were sold in Woolworth Stores and included a vanishing billiard ball, mystic envelope and this superb dancing skeleton! We thought we'd keep skelly bones plus an original catalogue for display.

Antique fi****ms aren't everyone's cup of tea but we think you'll agree that there's beauty in their craftsmanship. This 19th century percussion hunting rifle was made by John Frost and would add a touch of class to any abode.

The worst thing about having a good friend who is an amazing antiques restorer is that you can't tell anyone or else he'd get too busy to restore your antiques! This walking stick seat is Edwardian and looks gorgeous after restoration.
