We finished The Hollywood Kidnap Case yesterday completing the Mysteries at Sea series 🙌

'A very dramatic book. This one had lots of twists and turns before we found out the truth! There was a moment in the book that really surprised me. I really enjoyed reading all three books in the series so I could follow all their adventures in 1936! Would recommend to anyone who loves daring adventure books with lots of twists, turns and discoveries along the way!'

These were such fun books to read together but they work equally well as independent reads too! I feel a little sad to leave Alice, Sonny (and his pet mouse Rocket) behind but I think that is a testament to the brilliant writing and captivating characters!

I also must give a shout out to Laura at Klara for the cutest little smiley pot ever to be in existence!! ❤️ I saw it and couldn't resist getting one for Parker, he's a huge smiley fan 🥰

What no football? We decided to go up early and build a Lego set and read books instead 🙌

Parker was really focused on building his recycling truck so I first finished my current read - Your Murder Next then read Hollywood Kidnap Case to Parker and finally he read a book to himself before sleep ☺️

Did any of you watch the football? Or what was your alternative?

Parker and his friend always want to have some time at the river after school so I brought my book along!

It's amazing how much reading you can squeeze into the in-between moments when let's be honest a lot of us would be looking at our phones!

You don't need hours of dedicated time to read you just need to make reaching for your book the norm ☺️

We had a great weekend! On Saturday Parker went to a party whilst I went to Oxford with my friend to see The Karate Kid The Musical! It was fantastic and we had a lovely day drinking wine, coffee and yummy food!!

Yesterday myself and Parker had a super relaxing day! Lots of time in the garden and we read Big Panda and Tiny Dragon together. Such a gorgeous book and we spent some time trying to think up our own profound quotes afterwards ❤️ This quote made us laugh though....

Next time I'm running late I'm definitely saying, 'I like to think I'm creating anticipation' 🤣

Parker is going to a party today so unfortunately will be missing his Saturday Art Club so I thought in his absence I would give Let's Create Art Club a shout out!

Parker has been going to art club for five years and he still loves to go! Particularly on a Saturday when it is completely child led so he can choose to do whatever he likes! He often just does his little drawings but he really enjoys spending time there 🥰

This is all down to Rachel who has created such a wonderful environment for children to experiment, explore and create in a pressure and outcome free environment and all whilst being themselves! It's no surprise it has become such a success and continues to grow 🥰

Walking to and from art club has become a lovely staple for our Saturday mornings where we chat and spend some lovely quality time together and Parker spends time away from screens getting out in the fresh air and doing some art ❤️ Perfect!!

Highly recommend popping over and seeing what clubs are available, there are lots in many schools across Swindon, plus art camp in the holidays and Saturday Art Camp ☺️

⭐ Small business shout out ⭐

As many of you know Parker had his 10th birthday last month and we surprised him with a trip to Disneyland Paris! It was brilliant but we couldn't take many gifts with us so we had to be selective!

We decided chocolate had to be one of the gifts and Parker also loves peanut butter so a combination of the two is his dream snack!!

So I knew exactly who to ask to make his chocolate/, peanut butter dreams come true! Charlie from Chocist who makes the most delicious treats!!!

I asked Charlie for some peanut butter chocs and some peanut butter fudge and she of course delivered them exactly when I wanted them and included a brilliant freebie too!!

The chocolate made it all in one piece to Paris and the birthday boy was over the moon with them! Apparently they were just too good to share but I did sneak some of the fudge and that was as fantastic as always!! We've ordered it before and honestly it's soooo good!!

Highly recommend if you're looking for chocolate gifts for loved ones or yourself and you won't find anyone more helpful and friendly than Charlie! She's a wonderful person and has always been so kind and thoughtful to myself and Parker but I get the feeling she is like that with everyone 🥰

Thank you Charlie for helping to make Parker's 10th birthday gifts perfect ❤️
