Nipped to Aldi this afternoon for a few bits.

My god.

By the time I got to the freezer aisle I was absolutely fu**ed. 🥵

It was fairly quiet, nobody around, and before I knew it the intrusive thoughts had won.

Next thing I know I'm nestled up between the chicken dippers and fish fingers feeling like a brand new woman.

Honestly, I've never known peace like it.

Then came the scream...

"MUMMY! THERE'S A PARENT ON THE CHICKEN DINOSAURS!"

Panic.

Absolute scenes.

Security came charging down the aisle and I've never moved so quickly in my life.

The look of disappointment from that child's mother will haunt me until the day I die.

To make matters worse, Sandra on checkout 3 politely informed me I had a fish finger stuck in my hair whilst security escorted me from the building.

Finished my shopping in Tesco instead.

Didn't make the same mistake twice.

Although ngl, their freezer section wasn't nearly as comfortable so I was back in the car within ten minutes sweating like I'd run a marathon.

Anyone else considered it?

I've seen so many people out walking their dogs in the middle of the day this week, and honestly, some of the owners look like they're about three steps away from collapsing themselves.

So why the f**k do they think their barefoot, fur-coated dog is coping any better?

The pavements are roasting. The air is like an oven. Your dog can't tell you it's too hot, can't take its coat off, and can't slip a pair of trainers on when the ground is burning its paws.

A missed walk never killed a dog.

Heatstroke did.

Before anyone starts with the "but he needs his walk" bo****ks, no he doesn't. He'll survive a day in the house, games, chewing a toy, or getting extra fuss.

What he might not survive is being dragged around in temperatures that sensible people are avoiding themselves.

Use a bit of common sense.

If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your dog.

Pass it on.
