The aftermath of a and e. Yesterday I developed a severe headache after a prolonged amount of high blood pressure my gp gave me a letter and sent me straight to hospital -
We were there from 6 until midnight, I’ve been told after my ecg, (they left the pads on me when discharged)… and my blood tests that it’s just a severe migraine and to pretty much get on with it. The only thing that worked was the antisickness pill given at 11pm (they didn’t tell me what it was called though) admittedly I am a complex case with the CRPS and other things that they couldn’t really prescribe anything to treat the problem. I still have the awful tinnitus and not once even though I said on top of that my right ear was throbbing/pounding did they look in my ear and they only checked my blood pressure once which tbf had dropped from 160/120 to 145/95 (both of those are still bad). They did say if it gets worse or persists to go back, but I was in agony from start to finish - the CRPS is still flaring and 5 hours in a and e that was packed was awful - I didn’t get offered any pain meds until 11pm despite saying I was due them and my regular meds for the CRPS - now I get that they were busy and it must have been a horrible shift but it was one of the worst nights… and I don’t really want to do it all again. But if needs must then I will. I just feel a bit fobbed off
