If my pain were a painting… this is what it would look like. 🖤
Pain isn't always something you can see.
Sometimes it's burning. Sometimes it's shooting, stabbing or aching. Sometimes it's numbness, heaviness and exhaustion. Sometimes it feels like lightning travelling through your body while you're expected to carry on as though absolutely nothing is happening.
And then there's the ADHD
A mind that never stops. Racing thoughts.
Too much noise. Too many ideas.
Time blindness. Forgetting.
Starting 100 things and finishing none
Emotional overload. All or nothing,
Exhausted but wired.
Constantly fighting my own brain every single day.
And then there's the pain that doesn't live in the body at all. 💔
The heartbreak. The grief. The things you've lost. The things you've survived. The pieces of yourself you've had to put back together over and over again.
That's why this picture feels so powerful to me.
The cracks, the broken heart, the darkness, the tangled threads, the storm raging around me… yet I am still standing.
Maybe not untouched.
Maybe not unbroken.
Maybe absolutely bloody exhausted.
But still standing. 🖤
People don't always see the battles somebody is fighting behind closed doors. So please, be kind. You never truly know what another person is carrying.
And to anyone else living with pain that nobody can see:
I see you. Keep going. Even on the days when simply getting through the day is enough. 💜🌙
Today, I am giving myself a big hug. 🫂💜
Because actually… I am so bloody proud of myself.
I am a warrior. ⚔️
I have fought battles that nobody sees.
I've carried pain, heartbreak and grief. 💔
I've battled with a body that hurts and a brain that never seems to switch off.
I've had days when simply getting through the day has taken everything I've got.
And yet…
I keep going.
I fall. I cry. I get overwhelmed. I get exhausted. Sometimes I need to disappear from the world for a little while.
But somehow, I get back up.
So today I'm not going to focus on everything I haven't done, everything I should be doing, or all the ways I think I should be coping better.
Today I'm giving myself some credit.
For surviving.
For trying.
For getting back up.
For still being me through all of it.
I am strong. I am a warrior. And I keep going. 🖤💜🌙✨
And today, that's more than enough.
