Well... today's the big 4️⃣0️⃣! 🥳

I'm starting the day with a coffee... although there's every chance that might be swapped for something a little more celebratory later!

To celebrate, I've decided to do something I don't do very often... there's 10% off across my shop all weekend as a little birthday treat from me to you. 💛

I'll be taking the weekend off to celebrate with family and friends, so I won't be making this weekend, but the shop is still open as normal and any orders placed will be made and posted early next week.

Thank you for all your support, comments, orders and encouragement. It genuinely means the world and has helped this little business grow into something I'm so proud of.

Now I'm off to enjoy turning 40... wish me luck!

If you're new here, or we've not chatted before, hello! I'm Michaela

I'm the person behind The Crafty Michaela, where I make personalised gifts, cards and keepsakes from my little craft room.

I've always loved being creative. It started with paper crafts and cross stitch, and although I still enjoy both, these days you'll usually find me making personalised gifts.

I think my love of personalisation started when I was little. I was always the child in the gift shop who could never find their name on a keyring or mug, while everyone else seemed to have theirs!

Now I get to make sure other people don't have that problem. Whether it's a name, a special date, an inside joke or a completely bespoke idea, I love creating gifts that feel like they were made just for that person.

Thanks everyone for playing yesterday, the answer was of course SEASIDE!

With the forecast they've predicted this week, I have a feeling quite a few of us will be wishing we were at the seaside! Having a walk in the cold sea with an ice cream sounds perfect to me but guess I'll make do with a fan next to the desk instead😂

It also gave me the perfect excuse to share one of my favourite children's birthday card designs. I love this little seaside scene, always makes me smile and perfect for that little one who loves spending the day building sandcastles.

Whether you're lucky enough to be heading to the coast this week or just enjoying a bit of sunshine at home, I hope you get chance to make the most of it.

I nearly skipped today's Guess the Word...

It's been one of those weeks where the to do list seems to grow quicker than I can tick things off and technology has definitely had other ideas for me!

I'd been meaning to have a proper sort out of my drive and reorganise all my design files for ages... apparently technology decided the best way to encourage me was to lose them and make me recreate a good chunk of them instead! I'm not sure I'd recommend that approach, but at least everything is organised now and the shop is back up and running again 😂

So apologies for being a bit missing this week but I'm glad I'm back in time for Sundays guess the word.

Wrapping up Friday....
This week's craft table has been another completley different mix, from notebooks, cards, stickers and a mug.
That's one of my favourite things about this little business, one week it's teacher gifts, the next it's weddings, then birthdays, notebooks and everything in between. It certainly keeps me on my toes!

Thanks for playing along with yesterday’s Guess the Word challenge!

As a few of you said last week’s word was too easy, I tried to make this one a little trickier.

Lots of you still got it right though with … PENCIL

I chose this one because this vase with the pencil design is one of my favourite teacher gifts, I love gifts that can be enjoyed long after they’ve been gifted and these jugs make a lovely vase for a bunch of flowers, but they also work beautifully as a keepsake on a teacher’s desk, filled with pens, pencils or other classroom essentials.
